Post by gqroo »

I know its probably in the wrong section but how do you guys carry your rods preferably on roof racks, was thinking 100mm pvc or is there a better way so there not loose.

I don't have a bullbar so i can't have a rod holder. I have a softtop so i can't have a roof rack. I use 2-piece surf rods and pack them in the trailor when camping or in the back of the jeep sticking out the soft top :)

try using some foam from a joint like 'clarks rubber '.(50mm acoustic)
cut 3 discs a little smaller than the diameter of your conduit holder
slot the discs, push the rods into the discs and slide the lot into your
100mm conduit. Job done.

Rod Holder mounted to the rear roof rack. On the front roofrack use a foam/plastic version of a pool cue rack. Thats the only way I can describe it :D Rods clip in to it. Ocky strap over both roof racks and shes sweet! Generally though thats too much effort and its rod holder on the bullbar! HAvnt broken a rod yet, few other blokes in our club have done some damage though :(
