Have a problem with the gearbox in my lux. 2.8 diesel with a turbo. Went away on boxing Day and basically drove for 6 hours straight up the highway with a camper trailer and the tray and trailer loaded to the eyeballs.
Get to camp and the rear housing a nice coating of oil and another 4wd with us had the same problem but heaps worse.
Anyway, we both clean and degrease underneath and found it seemed to be coming from the top of the box somewhere. Carefully drove around the town we were at for the next week and no leaks whatsoever. Drive home with trailer and heaps less weight and same problem of leaking from the top somewhere.
Figures it might be a blocked breather or something but thought I would ask if someone might have had this problem before.
Also I have done the same trip plus others over the last 4 years and this is the first time this has happened.
