5.29s for a hilux?

Post by ingram1_2000 »

Is anyone running 5.29 ratios in there diffs? If so are they a reliable thing to put in a daily driver. What size tyres are you running with these gears. Where can they be sourced from new/second hand? thanks

Hey mate I ran one in my Lux for a while had no problems.
To find out if it will suit your needs what ratios do you have now? what size tyres you running? What engine etc etc all of these things will help you decide if the ratio suits your needs.

If you do want one PM me I have a rear one in the shed I want to get rid of.

I ran 5.29's in my Lux for a while.
They came out in Toyota Stouts, the gearing was great with 35's but the pinions are alot weaker than other hilux ratios.

Its better running 4.88's, they're heaps stronger.
