MQ/MK Patrol Driveshafts 5 speed

Post by juls »

I have a MQ LWB 4spd originally diesel with 308. I bought it like this so I can only assume gearbox is in original location.

Whilst I dont really want to change to 5 speed now I have the opportunity to pick up some driveshafts from a turbo diesel MK LWB.

BUT... my plan is to pick up a MK parts car in the future with a 5spd and also aircon to re-fit to my car. If i get the suitable driveshafts now it wont matter whether i get a LWB or SWB.

I have the following questions.

1. Are petrol and diesel factory 5 speed gearboxes in the same place (ie driveshafts the same?)

2. Is the SWB 5 speed front driveshaft the same length as the LWB 5 speed driveshaft.

3. So do I get just the rear driveshaft, or both?
