Cutting down a 110 to 92 inch wheel base
Moderator: Micka
Congrats - they are good trucks. If the LT77 ever dies, just convert to a late model R380 instead of converting back to an LT85.
back on topic - a mate in the LR club got a 110 ute lengthened to 130" (or 127") - and I recall it cost him about $2k from a place that does truck chassis work - drive in drive out and mod plated. But prices are probably more now, and because it was a ute there was NO BODY WORK - which is usually the part that takes the most time and $$$.

After reading the last post maybe a standed 110 would be a better option for my needs, would work out to be more cost efective then doing a chop or hybrid. Just have to sell of the Japanese ring sting machine (180sx) thanks guys for the advice as these coil sprung Landys are all new to me lol been driving series 1s and 2s toooooooo long ha ha.
Its never over in a Land Rover.

A NEW 90 (when they did sell them) was a similar price to a NEW 110 - so I don't see your point. We are talking about an old, carby V8 COUNTY NINETY being 3x the price of an equivalent ONE-TEN COUNTY.Mark2 wrote:So why would anyone pay 50k for a new 90?ISUZUROVER wrote:Considering you can get a good V8 110 for about 4k these days - I think 12k for a V8 90 is a bit $$$.

It got the better of me. So i went looking for when it was built. Here are the specs it was originaly built to-
So your calculations were prob spot on Jav as it does have bent lower arms now which would have shortened it up a little.Posted: Sat Apr 19, 2003 10:58 pm

Current spec is.
302 Windsor
NP435 Gearbox (about 6.7:1 first gear ratio)
NP205 transfer case (2:1 low range with twin stick mod)
Unimog 404 axles (7.54:1 ratio with factory lockers)
112in wheelbase
2200mm overall width
Series 2a body.

Taking into account the rarity factor and all the rebuilt parts you can't seriously compare it to a 4K 110 county.ISUZUROVER wrote:A NEW 90 (when they did sell them) was a similar price to a NEW 110 - so I don't see your point. So the point was that its good value, particularly compared to what you get/got with a new one.
New D90's are only $39k
by the time you get one built and engineer it, you might be up around the $25k mark.
Then you have a 2nd hand D110 converted to D90......
so the extra $15k gets you a NEW D90 that will always have better resale. No converted LR is worth what is spent on it.....
I know..... i converted one.....
