Steering experts needed

Post by Clown Boy »

Hi guys,

I defined the part names in the below in case I got the names wrong.

I think it is my pitman arm (the thick steel bracket going from Power Steering unit to the steering rod) that is bent. Must have hit a big rock some time ago.

The end where the steering rod bolts on is bent up.

This bring the steering rod closer to my oil sump but it still clears.

And I cannot tell if the tie rod ends (the big brackets from steering rod to each wheel hub) are bent or wether they should have the shape they do.

Is anyone here a steering guy, pref in Brisbane, who wants to offer advice on what I should swap and how I should go about it?

Do I need to do it urgently since I can still steer okay? and even had a wheel aligment, etc, about 2 weeks ago. (I asked them to do a health check and they said nothing).

Post up some pics so we can see exactly what the problem is and let us know what vehicle it is too.

the tie rods and arm should be straight and if the pit man arm is bent i would go and get a second hand unit from the wreckers should not be too much . also what exactly is wrong with the steering when you drive ??
