ute tray regulations?

Post by Mr. octurbo »

Gday,

iv been looking around the web for sometime now and i wanted to know
is there any laws/regulations for making your own ute tray. the one i got on now looks a bit old, has a crack in the aliminium.

my plan was to use the same bits of steel that run underneith it but put wood on insted. so have a frame ect with wood floor boards bolted/screwd in.

so, are there any laws or regulations in queensland that mainroads have reguarding home made ute trays?

thanks

mat.

There are actually no rules specifically regarding the building of home made trays by the RTA.

However all vehicle ADRs such as light emmitence angles apply as well as the need to use sound engineering practises and rules regarding the maximum sizes of the vehicle.

Would love to see it.

I worked for ten years making trays for one of the largest companies in Australia.
