Poly Airs in 100 Series.

Post by Hardcorr »

Is there anyone who is having any problems with Poly Airs in the back of a 100 Series Cruiser.
Got a mate who is feeling like a bucking feeling and is wondering if it could be the air bags in the rear springs causing it.

Cheers

Pressures are:
Around town about 5psi, with a load between 15 and 20psi.

They were in the car at purchase.

Weigh wise, there is a full rear step bar with wheel carrier, and full roller draws with shelf, divider and barrier.

Rear springs are TJM XGS, with same brand shocks, unsure on what weighting.

Mine bucks every now and again but I've got soft springs with a TJM rear bar/wheel carrier on the rear and a big 5 poster bull bar with double scrub bars on the front.
This is a bit of weight hanging off it so I kind of expect some handling difference.

My bucking also seems to be related to how fast I'm going over certain terrain.

If there are pot holes or little humps in the road it sometimes does it. When on the QAA Line across the simpson it was doing it really badly. I was heavily loaded up then though - so was to be expected.

Perhaps old mate's springs aren't stiff enough for the load he carries.....? I don't know.

I'm going to be fitting Dobinson 2 inch coils all round with their shocks so perhaps that will rectify it for me. Hard to say.

Either way - it's not that bad that it annoys me. Afterall, it is a 4by used for touring and not a town car.

Regards

Anthony.
