im after hilux seats to fit in my 85 single cab hilux. ive been offered 85 model 4runner seats .will they bolt straight in?
any other ideas?

On the passenger side, the r/h front mount does not have a nut to go into (but the hole in the body is there). You can either run with 3 bolts, or fab something up.

i ran Surf seats in my 85 extra cab, got them from the wreckers for about $300 pair (was a few years ago) great seats, very comfy and bolted straight in with a bit of drilling one of the holes out a bit on each seat (3 lined up the other was 1/2 a hole out)

dont buy seats out of a surf that's after 1996 they change the bracket pattern. I'm stuck at the moment with a pair that dont fit.

A mate has Au seats in his only needed a tiny peice of angle welded to the front of the rails and it's a bolt in affair after seeing how well they fit his it will happen to mine in the not to distant future

Hey Wizza they are the same seats as my 89 gen1 SR5 4runner seats,
quite comfy.
I have some cheap VN commodore seats i need to unload?

It will most likely be at tough tracks @ Janowen hills but if i remeber next time i pop round to visit him i'll take the camera and post them up and there not to comfy for the middle person espeicaly when it runs dual transfers :shock:

$300 a set wreckers here were trying me for $400 a seat :shock: then i asked for a trade in and that bought it down $100. didnt get em in the end

If your seats runners etc are in good nic, why not get your seats reconditioned ? Might be able to get extra pading in them, more side support ( deeper bucket ) and new cloth trim etc... prob cost the same as 2nd hand seats, but instead you get new pretty comfy seats... just a thought anyway :)

*N130 SR5 4Runners of the same vintage have the same seats aswell.
