Fitting and Adjusting a rear panhard rod?

Post by buddha »

Ok just got my big ass Toughdog adjustable panhard rod delivered.
I think i can work out how to fit it ;) , but how do i adjust it?

The rear right wheel and tyre stick out almost 2inches more than the left, how do i adjust the panhard rod to correct this?

If you haven't already done it. I found the easiest way to do it was to attach a tie-down strap from axle to chassis and pull axle into alignment by measureing tyre to chassis both sides. Then fit panhard adjusted to this length. Release strap and double check measurements. Tighten everything, Job done.

you should be able to get the panhard closer then that, but also you cam may not be square to the chassis.

keep in mind if you square up the tyres have a look at your under belly tank make sure your tail shaft doesnt hit on the petrol tank.

mine sticks out further on one side than the other side. due to this reason

something doesn't add with your truck. If nissan had the diff central to the chassis and the shaft clears, Why then after you lift the truck then adjust the panhard to get the diff central would it hit on anything?
