Highway-Star wrote:About lowering high range; what about twin transferes?
I don't know squat about Vitaras/X90's to be honest, but to me the Vitara transfer setup looks alot like th hilux. Anyone know if the vitara setup can be moded for twin low range shifters like they do for the lux?

Well, the deed is done. Stimpy officially went to his new home tonight

Calmini gear will be ordered asap..... yay

The Sierra t/case thing has been suggested a couple of times, but I'm not keen to go through all of that. I'm hoping to find an option with diff ratios.... can't get Calmini/Richmond Gears in a 5:83.1 12 bolt anymore.
Am extremely happy to take any suggestions on this

DRS smells like a cat-food milkshake... and wet socks... and gorgonzola cheese... all whizzed up in a blender
Unless you can track down some 5.38 or 5.62 gears from some of the earlier US Sidekick/Trackers your only other R&P option is to get a rear 5.83 (Calmini still sell the front) from this crowd in Turkey http://www.4xfourart.com/eng_4x4.asp

Well if you can find a rear 5.83 somewhere else let me know too. I've been looking worldwide for more than a year and the Turkish mob is the only other source unless you track down some second hand ones. Other options include dual cases using a t-case from a coily as the high range reduction isn't as large as a leafy Sierra or swapping in the leafy t-case and changing your diff ratios to suit or swapping engines for something like the 2.0 4cyl with a decent exhaust and staying with the 5.125's. The 1.6 and auto copes with 31's but it isn't too exciting and 33's hurt even more. With some mods though the 1.6 was quite acceptable with the 31's.Squik wrote:Thanks CJ.... sussed it, no good.
Anyone on here know where I can get these diff gears?
As per my other thread, bought the X90 home last night.... ready to go

Yes, it just won't be too exciting. Drop the V6 in though and the problem would be solved
