Automatic transmission oil for Td5

Post by Kandy »

Hi All,
80000k servive coming up and thinking of changing to a synthetic in the auto transmission instead of the recommended TQ dextron111. MY concern is if the wrong oil goes in (and the specs are the same) :bad-words: I have synths eveywhere else as there was plenty of info on this but little on the auto,i.e. peoples personal experiences. Thanks :)

When u drop the trans oil on a TD5 only about 4l will come out and from mem the total system hold 8 or 9 l... for what it's worth take it to a transmission place and get them to suck the whole lot out and upgrade to syth if that what you want to use......it's pricey stuff!!!
