Sierra turbo ???

Post by zuku26 »

Ok here in the US we never got the 660cc turbo motor for our samurai's
Has anyone here installed the turbo from the 660 into a 1.3 motor. If so how difficult would it be? I think It would be a great idea to import the turbo and intercooler along with the factory turbo hood for my street zook.
To add to this question.
How bout adding that same turbo to the swift gt motor?

It was also avaliable in japan in the Jimnys, from memory there are a few versions one with an iron block and one with an alloy block (the alloy being the "better" of the two ...

I know that the 660 is a 3 cyclinder, I'm curoius about the turbo found on it. I could find info about the turbo itself. I found info on swapping the 660cc motor with the turbo into a sierra, but not just the turbo onto a 1.3.
Love mud are you talking about the motor being iron and alloy or you talking about the turbo?
I hope the questions didn't confuse anyone.
I'm trying to find info on swapping just the turbo, intercooler and turbo jimny hood onto a 1.3l suzuki motor equiped sierra/samurai

I would have thought the turbo from one of them would be way to small?

maybe try looking towards a small turbo from a 1jz?

To tell you the truth I guess I'm just liking the fact that there is a factory hood with scoop that has the matching intercooler and turbo. I guess I might be better off running a different turbo but use the intercooler from the jimny and jimny hood with scoop. I really don't want to run a very big turbo though, just small boost will do fine.

I think that the turbo off a F6A would be too small, from memory they are IHI brand but dont quote me on that. Here is a couple of pics comparing the exhaust wheel to a 10 sent coin (about 24mm) and a side shot to compare it to the air con compressor.
This motor was out of a half cut 199* jap spec "jimny"
