Help - Fuel tank warning light 80 series**now fixed**
Just went out to start my truck and the fuel tank warning light was on. Sub tank is full and wont switch over. Im guessing at saying I have probably ripped out a wire from the sub tank but wanted to see if anyone else has had this drama?

" Some days you are the bug; some days you are the wind screen"
Firstly, petrol or diesel?
Petrol: pumps the fuel into the main tank so I wouldn't know where to look for it, prehaps it where the fuel guage is. Accessable under the carpet in the rear area, there is a small panel with a few screws to remove before you get to it. Could just be a fuse blown?
Diesel: there is a tap which interchanges between the two and it won't matter if the main is low (causing the fuel warning lamp) as you are using fuel from the sub. Its under neath the car but I'm unsure of its exact location, obviously somewhere between the two tanks just in front of the rear diff I reckon.

Shut Up, Get Out, & Start Digging...
I have the same problem.
Fuel tank light comes on intermittently
Not on at the moment but sure to come on the next time I need it.
Happened while at fraser at christmass time.
Had a full sub tank that I had to cart around for a week unable to use it.
I get back and the lights gone out and I can use it.
What exactly did you do to fix this.
