I got some AVM part No. AVM445 free wheel hubs. Went to install them. Removed stock hubs and when tried to fit them, I couldn't inset them all the way. Splines are ok, but can't get them to go in all the way. There's a 13mm gap between the hubs and the wheel assembly. Do I need to remove something else?
BTW, in tue US you can get them hubs here

There's a snap ring that has to be removed and put back on after the hub is installed. As far as I remember the snap ring has to be changed from the inner to the outer groove on the shaft.
I run AVM's for a couple of years now on different trucks, no probs until now.

Ah ha. I wondered why there was 2 snap ring grooves on the shaft.Offroad-Events wrote:There's a snap ring that has to be removed and put back on after the hub is installed. As far as I remember the snap ring has to be changed from the inner to the outer groove on the shaft.

What hubs have to have the snap ring on the inner groove? I have Nissan hubs and the snap ring goes on the outer groove.
My mate has had no luck with AVM hubs. He's shattered the outer teeth of them on both his GQ and his MQ shorty.
I call them sacrificial lambs lol!
He's stickin with them though because he hammers his trucks off road and would rather break them than something else in the driveline but I doubt you do that in a Nissan before the hubs though

cheers, sudso

Hey buddies, this morning I managed to install the AVM hubs. It is exactly as Offroad Events indicated. Hope I don´t brak them in my next trip. Anyways, I keep the OEM ones as spares. Thanks everyone...

the AVM hubs you get today are just crap if you use your truck in hardcore terrain they will break every time even with open centres ,one of my sons had them on a pathfinder V6 and could break them on command

I still have my stock hubs. Could someone please explain how to modify them to make them just manual (no auto engaging)? They would be perfect if htey were just manual...
