i just bought my first 4x4, a LX fj40 with a 350 chev 4sp box.
being new to 4x4 should i be worried that i dont have a lsd or locker?
going on my first off road drive in a couple of weeks and want to have as few a problems as possiable.
any advise would be great.

having no lsd or locker is a good thing if your new to 4wding (in my mind anyway) , as it will teach your to pick corect lines and rely on your driving technique rather than traction aids.
and if u get stuck i'm sure the other guys will help u out it's all part of the fun.

No lsd or locker
Driven without a locker or lsd is more fun an it will help your driveing heaps
I've only ever had lockers but it's just a much fun trying to drive unlocked but it's nice to be able to put'em in and make it all the way up the top that being said you can get stuck in some F'd up places and also tip it over easyier
Mind you i drove all the way through that lockers are a great investment
