Greasable shackles? worth it?

Hi. I have done a couple of searches but no luck.
Do greasable shackles and pins make a noticable and worthwhile difference to ride quality and flex? I just want my leaves to be a little more compliant. Any advice much appreciated.

yes it does , as the pins do not bind in the rubber bushes and have restricted movement

also another tip is to take the rigs wieght of the springs and seperate each spring with a hammer and screw driver and grease between the leaves
it quietins them [ especially after wet weather particularly the front ] and makes the springs slide against each other not bind up

Hey m8, i have a 94 leafy lux n i took 2 leaves out n put greasables all round n its like a whole new ball game on the tracks.. i recon 50% more flex, easily..

Forgot to add that it was set up fpr load carrying b4 so it was fairly stiff but still massive improvement..

Yeah i notic the diffrents from normal and greasable shackles i found the flex was much better and the ride on the road.
with old standed shackles were noise on the road now that i have greasable shackles it is much quieter and feels better.

Without greased shackles, you will have a fun time getting the old ones out. Most arent going to pull bushes out just to re-grease. They arent that expensive either.

Also, I got a full EFS kit for my 88 hilux, called the comfort ride i think. And their springs have a nylon pad between each leaf. No squeaking, nicely progressive, and no need for greasing. ( I would have thought greasing between leaves is bad anyway, as grease attracts dirt sand etc ). Do it right the first time mate. They last you forever and cost stuff all.

hahahaah yeh mate turbz is soo right.. it took me hours and soo many anger fits to get my old bushes out.. i ended up cutting them with a stanley, still didnt come off as they were what appeared to be, glued somehow, so i got the oxy n burnt the things out.. good fun but, think happy thoughts when you get to it lol.
