just courious with the class specs and where my car would fit in?
double locked
33's
engine conversion
Ute conversion
SPOA
series 1 rockcrawler
even thou i'm only running little wheels would mine be classes as outlaw, cos it's not really a fair comprasion when your placed up against a patrol with 38's and double lockers, even thou my car is more engineered i wouldn't stand a chance against such a broad field of competition vehicles
just courous

classes
Hey Steve,
I have been trying to make the classes and rules simple , but I think that the time has come to maybe add another class somewhere between B and C. I know your standard of vehicle and your capability but I do need to refer back to the Idea of this event. Its based on and entry level for people who havent competed before or want to step up to the next level , especially that jump from weekend worrior to comp style of vehicles. Then again there may be a call for a one make series , a Zook class , hmmmm.
Maybe my thoughts may get a few opinions raised on this thread , let me know what you think peoples. Remember ultimately this is supposed to be fun , hard work , but fun at the end of the day.
Cheers

Re: classes
Much as i love my zook and its capabilities... i think with the track layout from last time the wagons with bigger wheels had advantages, i know a couple of zooks got very worried about running and i don't hold much hope of placing in class B.cityview wrote:Hey Steve,

new class
Ok here goes , new class aimed at Zooks (lwb or swb) and other smaller swb vehicles of a class B nature (weekend worriors) LETS CALL IT
"CLASS B LITES". The only relaxation is drive train. Rockcrawler gears will be allowed but only for this class. It seems to be a mod that is common on Zooks. Other vehicles permitted in this class may include Rockys , Ladas , Other Daihatsus , Vitaras etc. Swb Patrols , Jeeps , 40 series etc still in "Class B Heavy".
What do you think of that one ?

Yes buggys are very welcome. There are however a few special requests for unreg vehicles (class C only) CTP is available thru recreational rego at Dept Transport so I have heard , call me and I will explain more.
Yes to all answers in class B lites. Lockers , tracks and penalties.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO NOMINATE , THERE ARE ONLY LIMITED PLACES OTHERWISE THE COMP WILL TAKE A WEEK. YOUR CAR MUST ME REGISTERED (some exemptions apply) AND YOU MUST PASS SCRUTINEERING.

Would like to enter but get the feeling with 35 muddies and chopped guards my patrol will be in the outlaw class. Don't think my little rb 30 engine will keep up with the class C trucks. think a class inbetween B and C would be good idea
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.

Classes/Rules
You are very right there def90 , the fact of cutting your guards has allowed you to put bigger tyres on and get more lift , thats exactly what the rule is there to stop.
How about this. Since this is an entry level event , what if you can nominate to not take a place and still knowing how many points you get and how you went against , the others. Lets say you nominate class B , and you got 3rd , you would know but you dont get prizes , nor on the podium at the end of the day cause of your modifications. Technically this may upset some people , but look at it this way. This event is designed to get people running who normally would just sit back and watch.
Are you in?

Penaltys
The penalty for using lockers , having ezi-locks or detroit or welded diffs will stay the same. Its designed to even things out not make it unfair for locked vehicles. A penalty for lockers etc is equivilent to a couple of attempts incl rev. for an unlocked vehicle. Thus if you can drive an unlocked vehicle really well you can win or if you use lockers you should be able to negotiate the obstacle in one go using some skill and vehicle knowledge. Thats how it is supposed to work , to highlite vehicle ability and more importantly , driver skill.
Hope I have answered your question

Righto so if you complete a course but obviously have used lockers to do it (welded) then there is a single points deduction? Was just thinking that maybe points are lost every time a locker is used and therefore as a welded can obviously not be turned off you would be continually deducting points for each section.
