again ive been on the prowl for a sierra and come across this what do you guys think?
how hard would it be to get registered?
im (not me getting someone to do this) planing on replacing the rear center, how much labour is involved?
i reckon it would flex up pretty good with ruf and 30's
You will probably get a RWC without dramas but watchout for the boys in blue. Locked diff/s and extended shackles are not allowed in (killjoy) queensland. Apart from that it looks pretty good. Swap the rear centre and get some new shackles, should be sweet.
In qld you are only allowed to increase wheel track by one inch (25mm). That means no Lux diffs, wheel spacers or adaptors. no big offset rims. no lockers. no extended shackles. Queensland stock & rego'd today, modified trailer beast tomorrow. A lot of 4x4s up here have tyres outside the guards but authorities don't pay too much notice. Theres too many turbo skylines & wrx's around!
I call BS on lockers, they dont make your car look any different, cept if you have fart lockers, then you get switches on the dash.
I can't beleve every vehicle in QLD with lockers would be illegal.

Call it whatever..... Cig locker, lincoln locker, mini/full spool are all illegal on road in Qld. Powertrax and lockright ETC are legal beacause they do NOT permanently lock both axles together. Anti Hoon laws in Qld mean you can lose your vehicle for 48 hours (1st offence) if you squeel a tyre. Not something I'd be willing to risk, besides permanently locked diffs are dangerous on road in wet/slippery conditions.
Bad JuJu wrote:I can only judge that the zook has a locking rear diff not a welded one, as the ad says locked, not spooled or welded.
The listing says the diff is locked, it doesn't say locker.
I have sent the seller an email asking the details of the rear diff. I guess we'll find out soon!
It is a bit off topic but here is a link to Qld.gov.au. Qld transport website. You can download the 'light vehicle modification guidelines'. http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/LTAS ... ifications
Not much is allowed in Qld if you want to stay within the law.
As its been said before qld sucks for mods but dont let that stop you doing what you wana do.To many people carry on about lockers, shackles, lifts, ect but they still put all the same gear on there trucks.Ive found if u keep a suzi in good looking condition and dont drive around like a tosser most cops wont look twice at you.Remember a zuk on 31s with 4inches of lift is still small next to a standed patrol or cruiser. In regards to track width 15x7s increase the track by more than one inch so 90% of zuks are elegal anyway. And 235-75-15s are also 4inches taller than standed (elegal) just dont draw more attention to your self than needed and youll be right.
