ether spending 5, 6, 7 thousand + on droping a 6 cylinder in her OR sticking with the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder and droping a turbo in it,

money is not the problem im just not sure on wether it is worth paying that much if a turbo will do as good a job

It will be much more drivable with a V6 conversion and a lot more reliable. Are you looking at using a Commodore V6 or a Jackaroo V6?

You are looking at at least $7k for a 3.2 or 3.5 Isuzu V6 to fit, and probably at least $5k for a commodore V6..

Me I would get the turbo Piazza motor fgor a grand and a good aftermarket EFI computer........ Will bolt to your exisiting gearbox and put out over 130kw so power is comparable to the V6 commodore. being a turbo, getting 20-30 % more power through bigger exhaust, better intercooler and injectors is easy. try doing that with your commodore V6 without opening up the motor.

You could also go a 2.6 rodeo engine with the 2 litre turbo manifold.....

We looked at the V6 engine prices for a MU conversion but they are very expensive. You can probably turbo it for a grand if you do it yourself with a secondhand turbo (or can find a secondhand import isuzu/holden piazza 2.0 turbo) or about $2k if you let one place make your turbo piping up and use an S/H turbo

Lot of potential in the Jackeroo.... check around the wreckers on the cost of those 2.0 turbo engines - usually well under $1k.

If you are interested in seeing what the MU is up to let me know.

ok why not sell the POS buy a lux or a nissan or something and spend the 10 grand on that, will be a better idea in the long run instead on spending shit loads on a engine conversion

I know of turbo / intercooled Jackaroo that is running a TO3 turbo with around 8 lb boost!

This Guy even races it at Dandy drags from time to time
and can give a VL Commodore a real scare.

  Why would spend u that much on the motor
Before you get all excited bout makin a fast jackaroo sit back (with beer of course) and think about this.

Once it goes fast you'll want to wheel it heaps more
Then you'll get the irrits with the ifs
Then you'll want to SAS it (more $$$)
Then you'll have a never ending battle with limited availability of things like transfer gearing etc and rego/ engineering/ insurance

If you have the patience and money to get through all that shite you'll have a cool rig, but at the cost of buckets of time, money and frustration. If you're gonna keep this car for a while then upgrade the motor but set a budget of bout 2/ 2.5, NOT 10k!

All I'm sayin is think about what you'll really need and want now and in the future and decide whether spendin money on the roo is wise or you can live with a bit of down shiftin on hills.
