Heavy duty clutch but soft pedal?

Post by 351ciofgrunt »

Hey guys i just put in a 4Terrain Heavy duty clutch into my GQ 4.2petrol its the clutch that is racing button clutch one side and normal heavy duty on the other...question is even with the engine off (no vac assist) the clutch doesnt feel any heavier or harder to push than the standard one i was replacing...is this normal? what have you guys noticed when replacing a standard clutch with a heavy duty?

if its the same as mine the slave cylinder may not be pushing out far enough to engage the clutch.

Just a thought.

hey mate i fitted the same clutch to mw swb gq. my clutch did not feel any heavier either so i had the master and slave cylinders replaced and it is marginally heavier. Barely noticable my mates have driven it and they reckon they cant tell the differnence. As for the clutch ive had mine in for 25000 now and ive given it a flogging on 35's with standard 4:11 ratios and i can say nothign but good things about it. Let me know how you go if you get the master rebuilt.
