My boss setup with tank will do all 4 in about 1 1/2 mins also runs a rattle gunWill easily pump a 10R.15 off-road tyre from 15 psi to 32 psi in 2 minutes, and then comfortably continue to do so for five of your mate’s vehicles as well, before there is a chance of the thermal shut down switch kicking in.
Hobzee of here sells the boss set ups

Re: air compressors
I find that very hard to believe. Even 17 CFM 240 volt air compessors wont do that for long. They need time to refill. So a 12 volt compressor sure as hell wouldn't do it.noelb1 wrote:onboard air kits - will run a rattle gun nonstop

12v 3/4 Hp Air Compressor by BOSS Suspension.
This unit is of exceptional quality with steel components, not plastic. It's specs are :
Massive -- 35cm long, 25 cm tall, 18cm wide. This is without doubt the biggest and most impressive compressor out there..
3/4 Horse Power
3.5 cfm @ free flow
Max pressure 200 psi
Working Pressure 0-150 psi
100% duty cylcle - just keeps going. All others heat up and stop.
Draws max 25 amp on start up under pressure.
12 month warranty.
Ideally this unit would be fitted to a vehicle to pump up tyres, run diff locks or operate air tools. Although perfectly capable of pumping up tyres without an air tank, best pumping and air tool results are achieved when using a tank with pressure switch. We also sell a range of tanks, pressure switches and accessories.
Putting this in perspective this unit is in a legaue of its own. It is so much bigger and faster than anything else it is unfair to the competition to make comparisons .... but I did! Check this out..

I would have to see it to believe it. I don't think any 12 volt compressor could run continuisly all day without needing to sit for 30 second to a minute to refill a tank before you could continue at some stage. You could do 4 or 8 wheels straight but continously is a very very very big call.

mate in not running it continuisly..... there was no talk about "runnin contiusly all day" till you brought it up...what i was trying to say is that you are able to use a rattle gun with no problem off a boss compressor and air tank set up....... i dont know of any comp. and tank set up on a 4wd is set up to run all dayMick. wrote:I would have to see it to believe it. 3.5 cfm at free flow..... would be a tad less under load. I guess you could run a rattle gun for short bursts...... but if you had something that was tough to get undone, you would be stopping regularly to build air. I have a 2 1/2" HP compressor that won't keep up to a rattle gun running for any more than 30 seconds straight. Would be fine for doing wheel nuts i guess...... although i wouldn't tighten them with one.
There is no "I" in Team, but there are 5 in Individual Brilliance
There was a post above that said they would a ratle gun non stop. That is the same as say it will run continuisly or run all day.MUSS wrote:mate in not running it continuisly..... there was no talk about "runnin contiusly all day" till you brought it up...what i was trying to say is that you are able to use a rattle gun with no problem off a boss compressor and air tank set up....... i dont know of any comp. and tank set up on a 4wd is set up to run all dayMick. wrote:I would have to see it to believe it. And all I said was I couldn't see any 12 volt compressor running a rattle gun non stop, continuisly or all day which ever way you want to put it, it all means the same.

why would a reputable 4wd shop owner state this then "Ideally this unit would be fitted to a vehicle to pump up tyres, run diff locks or operate air tools. Although perfectly capable of pumping up tyres without an air tank, best pumping and air tool results are achieved when using a tank with pressure switch. We also sell a range of tanks, pressure switches and accessories.

so weather you believe it or not its been proven.... even hamo stated he has/does run a rattle gun!

I'll get some video of the test with the twin compressors, but you don't run one non stop when you are using one do you, and using a single compressor
be it a max air or boss you have ample pressure to use a rattle gun for the required time needed.
edit
there are also several shops using these set ups on there on site fitting trucks

I Have a boss set up and did a comparo at a navrun against an endless air system.
The endless system was marginally quicker to pump up two 35's from 20 to 40.
It WILL NOT run a rattle gun NON STOP. It will however, undo all six nuts on one wheel with the 15l tank at 135psi and the compressor cuts in. By the time the wheel is off and back on it's ready to go again. So you can do a tyre change with out waiting for the compressor.
Any half decent rattle gun will consume about 25cfm+... NO 12v compressor is going to keep up with that.. no if's no buts...
I haven't been able to fault the boss system. It is noisier than some but nothing quieter comes close to it's performance!
For my dollars, the boss system hands down.
Cheers Dan.
P.S. I got mine through Hobzee off here. Very trouble free transaction. When i took delivery of the product it did have a mount that was damaged in transit and he sourced new mounts ASAP without a question. Great service. Either PM him or go to his the4wdshop store on Ebay.

Agreed.....But I'll stick with my York thanksjessie928 wrote:if i was to run a battery operated pump, the boss would be the one.

Although I still find it humourous that the ebay add claims it to be faster then service station pumps
