Simex Extreme's In The Sand..

Hi All, Does anyone have any info on how simex extreme trekker 2's Go in the Sand (Soft Beach)?? I currently am running JT2's & run them @ 8psi with No prob's.
I am upgrading to 36x12.5x15's next month & was wondering if anyone has any idea on how they will perform on a GQ tb42? 8" Rim..
I have heard that the jt2's are designed to run @ low pressure & still remain on the rim.. Is this the case with the et's?
I am over the second set of tyres thing so I just run simex's 100% of the time. I am offroad @ least once a week if not 2..

(I tried search but did not come up with the proper info I am after)

I run et2 36x12.5 16r and took them for a run up the beach to see what they where like. I ran them at 10psi with internal beadlocks at 38psi in soft sand they struggled a little bit but i have plenty of power to pull through. They dont seem to bag as much as my exterrains maybe i need to let them down to 6psi next time, other than that they wernt as bad as i thought they would be hope this helps

my last tyres were 35x10.5 pedes on 15 x 8's and were good in the soft sand, let them down to around 10psi on beach still do 80km'hr without too much roll on the rim, bias don't bag that easily. but you definitely have to let them down a fair way or they dig. i presume the wider 12.5's with the 3rd lug wouldn't dig as easily.

i did a C.V at fraser last year (must have been already a little stuffed) from pulling my mates transporter around the island. only had 2 wheel drive and 1st/2nd low could still idle in soft sand without sinking

Thank's for the Reply Guy's :) Bit more confident now, I think what I will Do Is just head down on 12 psi & work from there, When funds perit I would love to get a set of internal beadlocks, but for now I will Urr on the side of caution & try a little higher, Big tyre to try & reseat the bead with, Hate that to happen :?

A mate in our club had to lower his ET 2's (35's) down to 6psi to get them to lengthen the contact patch significantly enough to get over some sandhills on the SA/ Vic Border Track.
He didnt have beadlocks either and had no bead troubles.

I think the thickness of the sidewall rubber alone in these tyres is about 10-12mm :shock:

The other problem he had at that pressure was when he was turning there was a delay in the tread direction catching up with the pointed direction of the front wheels, hence a lot of understeer.

ET2's are pretty good on sand as long as u let them down...

BUT, i wouldnt recommend running them on a 10"rim.. cos they love to fall off em... unless u have bead locks :?

on the sand i have found my 36et2's pretty crap. i run them at 6-10 at beachport. i reckon worn bfg muds are the go for sand. the only reason i use the pedes on the sand is because i sold and wrecked all my other tyres so thats all i have left at the moment. my truck definately went better on the sand with 35 muds but i do more hills and mud then sand driving so i don't care to much about it.
