FYI each chassis rail front has holes already drilled that match Landcruiser ( and probably all other Toyota and perhaps others ) forged recovery hooks.
A couple of 12mm high tensile bolts, lockwashers, washers and nuts and its done. I actually added a couple of steel renforcing blocks but probably overkill. Had to remove a small amount of metal from the sump guard as the existing clearance cutouts were just fractioally too small.
Not that I have any objection to the standard drivers side point - just that its a little fiddly to get a muddy snatch strap off with the small tie down loop welded on.
The rear recovery point ( the "tow" bar mount ) is another thing alltogether.....
