I agree that this is where this SAS started to have problems, should have just got either standard fronts or standard rears. If only you had gone and bought different springs you would have saved yourself a lot of time and money.

everything i did was what i was told to do by snake racing i will admit i wasnt told to run extended shackles that was were i ran into my first problem i have seen plenty of hiluxes this hieght that work well enough and are yet to roll

you can have a go and not roll just dont drive like a cowboy

i will acept all you can say when its finished and i see how it works until then dont bag what im doing

Ryan would NOT have said IFS REARS.


I`m not bagging what you are doing, hay if it works for you then cool.

All we are saying is you wouldn`t have had this many problems if you had used standard rears or standard fronts.

I think the main problem here is with having the shackle tube under the chassis, I run IFS rears up front with 1'5" longer shackle and don't have any probs. I origanally went 2" shackle and the steering was way off, drilling the chassis is no big deal. This is what I came up with after researching for @ a year and reading everything I could find on doing a SAS. Pirate was very helpfull if you can wade through all the BS

I have not seen anyone bagging you. People are trying to give you advice but you dont seem to want to take any!

If Rhino told you to use IFS springs why didnt he supply you the right front hangers?

i using ifs rears up front and it know sits 1" - 2" lower than it did with my old setup and 33's and it flexes easily and freely and it aint floppy....

going for the engineers report tommorow will tell the insurance company when it passes probably keep the same setup on the next one

Nice work dreama. Good to see things work out for ya.
Looks about 2 or 3 inches too tall for my liking, but sweet none the less.

OK fill us in on some details
What front springs did you end up using?
What hanger / shackle combo you using?
Did you move the steering box foward or leave it in the stock position?
Have you done anything to widen the front to match the rear wheel track (ie. IFS hub swap or spacers)?

OK I think thats enough questioning :)



One last thing...



... Get a front tailshaft and some 35/37 muddies on there and go out and get some fully sick wheeling pics :armsup: .

i ended up using the late model ifs springs under chassis shackle mounts from snake racing extended shackles from snake racing i did move the steering box the nothing to widen the diff yet
