just wish we got to do the night stages![]()
Having some strange noises all day Saturday, I had the rear diff fail as I left camp for stage 3. I think most people who were in camp would have herd it![]()
A big thanks to Niel Cooper and Chris Hummer.
They escorted me back to Niel's place to leave my car for repairs and Chris dropped my wife and myself home.
Its this sort of support from other compeditors that make the events!

One bad roll over (everyone ok).
A very bad head on before the event (on a bend) - everyone ok.
Smithy blew his rear diff and had to finish early.
Quite a few cars pulled out after stage 3.
60 cars all up - 4 stages.
It started raining Saturday and made things very interesting - almost put the Jabber over going down a slippery clay hill (rear overtook the front) after a big comp GU flopped down there.
Kris and I had a ball and wasted almost a quarter of a tank of fuel at the end of the last stage fanging around![]()
I think Hottie and Dave did ok.
Great event but the navigation was a REAL bitch.
Andrew, I forgot how good some of the tracks are down there (particularly after rain) - we have to organize a weekender
