From Orange head west towards Forbes, approx 12kms, we will have plenty of signs to follow. If you are coming from the west it is the 2nd right turn out of Molong, Amaroo Rd, or coming from Cudal you will see the signs easily to Amaroo Rd.

We will have some marshalls on the road to the property for a while on friday arvo and sat morn. But we are asking ALL those attending to PLEASE drive with extra care and courtesy along the last couple of kms to the property. It is just a bit narrow with a couple of sharp bends, no problems if everyone takes it easy. We have had to pay a large bond to the council for the road, so just please be careful.

There is a map of the roads around the property at canobolas4wd.com

there will be 2 stages run on Sat .... 1st stage starts at 2pm , 2nd stage will be run in the dark ( lighting for spectators ) , then another 2 stages to be run on Sunday

there is a field of 34 teams ..... this means 68 cars will be able to have a start at stages 1,2 & 3 ..... with only the vehicles that can make it to the 100 point marker on stage 3 being able to attempt stage stage 4
ahhh shit hey. i didnt know there was a night stage. i better make sure my headlights are working.

There are quite a few questions regarding mudguards/flares. It is not something we will be checking at scrutineering. Even if the tyres stick out we will not be concerned.

I have sent a list to someone from all clubs indicating what we will be checking at scrutineering.

Rego & insurance
Helmets & Gloves
Brakes & handbrake
Fire Extinguisher ( Fully Charged )
Window nets
Seat Belts
Painted Red recovery points with high tensile bolts
Steering/Draglinks ETC
Roll Bar (if applicable)
Winch Cable Condition
General Vehicle Condition ( nothing about to fall off)

We have had a heap of rain this weekend, prepare for some MUD!!!

What would be the best way to tow a rig there from Newcastle??

going over the Blue mountains is about 100kms shorter than going Via Dubbo.

but is it worth taking the extra 100kms and having mostly flat driving??

is there any big hills between dubbo and Orange??

Cheers

Evan ,

Its much a muchness either way ..... when we go up to the Watagans we usually go via Sydney & up the freeway , but i know a lot of the trucks from here that go to Newcastle use the route ... Newcastle , Denman , Cassillis , Gulgong , Wellington , then to Orange . If you are going to go this way you will not have to go all the way to Orange , take the 2nd turn to the right after you leave Molong ( its a few kms out of Molong ) it is signposted to Borenore ( called Amaroo Rd ) , about 10 kms along Amaroo road you will cross over the railway line , then keep an eye out for signs to the event.
There are a few long uphill sections between Denman & Cassillis though that you will certainly notice when towing

Take ya woolies with ya for the weekend... by the looks of it, it's gunna be a cold wet weekend.

check this page out on the Bureau of Meteorology site... got all the details over the past month. http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/IDCJD ... test.shtml

Looks like they havn't reached over 10degrees at night since last Thu and the top temps during the day are avg about 18-19degrees. Not to mention they've had 84mm of rain since last Fri also.

Yea they are forcasting some rain for the weekend , temps are starting to warm up again after last weekends freeze though.
Camping etc is all on grassed area so at least you wont get a muddy camp site , areas around tracks for spectators will drain pretty well too .... all wombat holes etc on tracks are still holding water from last weekends rain though

It has been another beautiful day here at Borenore, it Maxed at 27 deg today, no rain, no storms. Possibly tommorrow we may get a Nissan Trials Friday arvo, but who knows. It is supposed to be min 13 - 15 overnight for the weekend in Orange, Borenore is 2-3 deg warmer than Orange.

The tracks are in excellent condition, everything is in place, all we need now is you. See you all tommorrow or Sat morn.
