Scenic Rim Challenge Round 5 31st October
Moderator: evanstaniland
We try to run 4 tracks. The tracks won't be as hard as the last event for the lower class cars.
2 tracks are hill gully climbs so we are expecting easy recoveries if required.
We are going to try and get the 5th track in as we need 1 hour if time permits.

I will be running 38's, twin locked, 5" lift. so i'm guessing that will put me in outlaw class. Does that mean i MUST have a cage and window nets or can i just opt out of the bonus lines that require them? If i opt out of the bonus lines that that mean i won't end up being competitive?
If we compete as a team with three vehicles in three different categories does that mean we just get score individually against the categories we are competing in and the aggregate score is tallied at the end to give a placing for the team?
Also, i have a semi professional photography/videography team lined up for the day to make a video of our team/the event. How will we go getting them access for decent positions to get good shots of the event. We are willing to produce a video of the event if that is what people want.

What i'm saying is, if a car goes in that track it will come out looking like your's. With the 4wd goggles on, it will look beautiful.
Some of those 15 tracks will be run in the challenge and we have just added another 5 new tracks today. Double diamond- double x.
We will also be driving 1 track that a visitor to the park this weekend picks out. This could mean easy or extremely hard tracks.

Phil, i know you probably mean well mate, but since this is my first comp and i'm already nervous enough as it is about making an arse of myself, perhaps you could say something that isn't negative and sandbagging the shit out of my truck.pootrollin wrote:5" coils mean jack out there. Perhaps instead of just telling me how crap the set up is on my truck, you could offer some suggestions or why 5 inch coils mean jack, or how i could get around the problem.
There's friendly banter around the campfire, and then theres negativity. Short of rear mounting my radiator and getting rid of my air con altogether there's no way to make the bullbar smaller due to the placement of the winch. If you've got suggestions then i'd love to hear them.

Geez Milo i only made a suggestion to help you out. Not havin a shot (or sandbagging) at you Milo or your truck. As i mentioned with your first post have you done something about the problems that your winch causes you on approach. I only suggested this to you as i have seen the problems it causes you. I have seen some of the older tracks used in the comps and that will cause you a problem. Only trying to help. Sorry if i have offended you. This is a fun comp nothing to be nervous about. If i was not away working i would be there myself. I was navi for Shane in one of these comps and we did well. Build a plate under it so it will slide on the plate and not hit the winch housing. My suggestion and thoughts. When my new rims turn up we will go for a play. I only run 3 inch coils. I took 5 inch out as it made it to top heavy and rolly on slopes.rockcrawler31 wrote:Phil, i know you probably mean well mate, but since this is my first comp and i'm already nervous enough as it is about making an arse of myself, perhaps you could say something that isn't negative and sandbagging the shit out of my truck.pootrollin wrote:5" coils mean jack out there. I've put a plate under the aluminium winch housing so i can smash and bulldoze the hell out of the bull bar all day long and not worry about the winch itself. I've got a choice of 38's asd 5" or bald 32" Highway tyres on 0" springs so bit of a rock and a hard place

It's all good now. Man love hugs all roundAngryElmo wrote:looks like the general idea is if u cant drive it, shut up and let the ones that are willing to have a go do it and give them support
So what happens if Carol sees the footage of you driving stuff that you said you wouldn't???
Will i have to cut a special edition edit of the video just for your missus?
Have you learnt to not leave outers signed in so that she can't see your posts and what you're planning to get up to yet?
A question to the organisers - is the best dressed team points, is that for the dress of the driver's and navi's or is that for the support crew? Because i've got some ideas for dress codes for the day
