Snatched Feroza.
This is why boys and girls you need to lock your hubs in between trips as well.

Last one for now.
A brand new hand winch purchased at a recent 4x4 show being given the baptism of fire.

Looks like you guys had a really great time unlike my Sunday (

) next time you's are organising a trip I might have to have a long weekend and come for a drive

Hey All.
Just to say thanks for everyone for coming and having a great time. I reckon we sould all do it again sometime, but make it a FULL WEEKEND with camping overnight to make it worthwile for interstate members to come. We could even look to other areas, away from Sydney...
I had a ball, especially after I worked out how to get the hubs to engage... but that first hill just didnt look hard enough to use 4X4...
Thanks to Jeremy for the spotting, Heath for the hand winch and those that brought axes... lets get a chainsaw next time! It was great to put names to usernames and faces to names.
Chris and I went through the vid, there is some good shit there! There is also a lot of footage of my dashboard as we bounced along some of the suff! We will get stuck into the vid soon and let you all know how it's going, I have some net space somewhere, but this might be more than I am allowed. ( and i dont know how the hell i organise it)
Anyways, someone wants me to write a trip report so Ill get into that tonight somehow, but I dont know where it was we went, except that it was Watagans and there was a big motherfu(ker of a rock that gets slippery... not to mention a 60 series cruiser that just wont be stopped!
Thanks for a great day.
Andrew.

Paul I know of a place here in Adelaide that claimed to have some front diffs if you get stuck for parts.

he took a challenging line up some sandstone, and was using the leadfooted-kangaroo approach

wheels were getting 'bout 3 ft of air and coming down pretty hard at full noise
i think he needs a 60 series cos his foot weighs almost as much as birlo's does
he drove a mud hole with fallen trees in 2WD that the massive GQ was struggling to get thru tho!!

It was something like that.
I enjoyed the tree climb on my first attempt though.

Ah... an hour to remove a tree that was higher than head height?
Haha, just kidding, but you have to admit the zooks and Fezza's have the edge on general maneuverability.

As well as the fact that they dont guzzle as much fuel as our Patrols.
But I still love my SWB GQ.

don't need to go straight up the rock, we can go round it
nuffin against 80s, i'll get one one day (when i get old and soft

), but too many of the big boys diss the lil 4by's, when they can often go as many places. and besides, if i spent as much on my zook as it'd cost to buy a beat up 80, it'd drive circles round the 80 ANYDAY

comp vehicle for less than the cost of a standard cruiser

Emma sent me a little video of her ferog smoking some MT/R's on the sandstone climbs. Nothing too flash here, and plenty of sky watching, but worth a look anyway. Pity I don't get any sound... I loved the tune of that little rig in low 1st.
I've put it up here:

mate i was not dissin any little rigs.... i love the little zooks... and i know they can go most places that they are pointed but i also love the 80.... and i dare say that there are quiet a few "big" comp trucks that go further than little zookers can just from my point of view.....

i love the 80 too, and it's got the advantage of being comfy and a good tourer as well as a hardcore rig... as i said i'll get one someday. and i love having em along on trips cos they can pull me out when i get stuck on something they walked over
bang for ur bucks tho, i doubt there's much that can out-drive a zook (not counting buggies and stuff). a big comp truck will out-do a comp zook in some (possibly a lot of) areas... but ya can prolly build three comp zooks for the price of one comp truck
everyone has their preferences, zook suits me cos it's capable and cheap, and i don't have to worry 'bout damaging the panels. i know ya weren't dissin it, and it was good to see the two 80s out on the trip. i just fire up easily sometimes

mmm.. love the smell of burning MTRs in the morning

the ferog certainly sounds good with that exhaust
