LET'S GET THE RIGS DIRTY IN MARCH!!!!!!!!!

Post by ShinyDiscoBalls »

When is someone going to plan a trip say in March?????

I'm getting the car fixed after my mother in law goes back to the states and will be keen to go for a run.

Someone else's turn to give it a go. I think we should leave the date and place open and get people to nominate their choice and go from there.

We really need some numbers though... would love to see 9 or 10 Ferozas carving the mud!!!!

Ferocious is getting restless.

Cheers

I'd be up for a late March trip for sure, starting back at uni on the first tho, so might be busy at the start.

I will think about some places to go... suggestions to come.

The more the merrier!!!!! Rockys, Ferozas, Scats.... whatever....

But why is it up to me again to plan the trip? Does anyone know of somewhere between Sydney and Newcastle to go???

And Emma you can meet up with me in Sydney so you don't go via Adelaide again. The next one can be near woolongong.

Seeing as it's up to me again let's get it started.

Please advise the following:

1. Dates that would suit each person (please provide as many options as possible)

2. Day trip or weekend.

3. Location, location, location - let's make it north so the Newcastle contingent can come.

4. Numbers - If you have friends coming along let us all know. We want driver and codriver names, rig description and contact mobile numbers and email addresses.

Please send above information to my email address which is

bacardinoice@hotmail.com

I will then post outcome of responses.

Need all responses by the 21.2.04 so we have time to plan.

Cheers

I would like to come but don’t know if I would be of any help
More like a dead weight dragging behind you.
Firstly I am new to a manual car although I somewhat have an idea what I am doing now.
I have never been 4wd'ing before so I would have no idea what to do although I would like to learn.

And my tyres are due for a change since the previous owner over inflated the tyres and has almost completely wore out the middle of the tyres :(

So ill see when it comes closer to the date. if I don’t feel confident enough I will come to the next one

Yeah right!!! Everyone else is just too damn lazy!!!

Anyone is welcome but I think we should limit numbers to say 10 or 12 (if we can get those numbers) otherwise it will take too long for us to get through the tricky areas.

Stumped, XXXL80, bring it on! Emma is a definate. Rod you in?

Jaboo, get them tires and get that practice in. If you can drive normaly and do a hill start you'll be fine.

Please send me those dates and suggestions as to where to go... somewhere between Syd - Newcastle so the Novacastrians can join in. And don't forget to mention if you want a day trip or weekend.

Where's everyone else?? AJ???? CROZ???? Luke???? Dave????

apparently there are some good tracks thru the watagans, both hardcore and gentle... is fairly close to both sydney and newy. don't know the place myself tho, but there's enuf ppl on this board that know the place real well so we could find stuff out

Hey all, back from hols for the moment... but off again soon.

I am really keen to get into it with you all, especially as I just got new tyres on the truck... Pirelli scorpion 235/75/15 A/T's. Not expensive but seem good and sturdy as well as having reasonably agressive tread.

Anyways, I am keen for late march (last weekend), but cant commit as yet due to work and uni all being variable. I would say I am ninety percent sure I can get the saturday off to come along tho.

Catch you.

Ok, Watagans it is. I will go buy a couple maps of the area.

First things first. It seems that the 27th is the day that most suits everybody so I think that should be the date - also looks like a day trip which is cool to me.

XXXL80, Stumped & Duff - can I get your names as I don't know them, probably not paying attention.

Also please email me mobile numbers people so I can make up a list... Emma & Rod, I got yours already.

Emma, buy a compass and a map and make sure you know how to get to Enmore in Sydney from the Gong so you can get to my place as quickly as possible.   Sorry couldn't help that.....

Anyone have anyo ne else who wants to come let me know their details too.

Stumped - could you try and find out some more info on the tracks in the Watagans or if anyone else as been there please email me anything you might have.

Will also need a meeting point so the Sydney crew can hook up with the Newy guys.

BY GOLLY< ME THINKS WE HAVE A TRIP ON OUR HANDS!!!

Also here are the directions on how to get there... looks like the roundabout at Tuggerah would be a good meeting point unless someone knows a better spot. Anyone know if there's a maccas there?????

Also need rig descriptions so we know who you are when you get there.

Cheers

Paul, you suck :finger: 27th March @ Enmore in Syd not Goulburn  (Ferog's natural 4x4 instinct is to head for Goulburn, therefore it was not my fault) send me details when your ready.

Make a list of who's driving what and their names, I get confused real easy see, (no smart comments) :P

Hoping I can make it... what about getting the whole Sydney crew to meet at thornleigh Maccas (big carpark), just before the start of the F3? There is also a Shell servo just up the road so we can fuel up.

Then its a convoy up the freeway to the fun park.

By the way guys, the Watagans is more of a touring/scenic drive as far as I know. Been through there a couple of times and I dont remember any challanging sections. :?

Unless someone knows any secret tracks up there? :D

How hard do you like it Rod  I am sure the Watagans has something to accomodate you :D
The only really "mapped" stuff is Subaru Forrester stuff, but if you venture a little off the main trail there is plenty to keep you amused. That said, with the current lack of precipitation over the last year or longer the good muddy sections will probably be few & far between unfortuantely. There were a couple of sections that I struggled with 31" Muddies & Front Lincoln Locker & Rear LSD :D

Any of you Daihatsu-ers have any huge objections to a Surf tagging along.....I am an ex-Feroza owner if that counts :D Been a while since I've been out & wouldn't mind taking the Surf out on some of the old hunting grounds & see what it is capable of

Here is a few Watagan Pics for you - I have a heap more at work & if I get time I will post them.

hey guys,
new to the forum but maybe keen to tag along so long as you arent offended by a student driving a 4runner, its a stocko sr5 ltd (the model with the chrome wheels) and so long as my car can handle it, im not sure on your rigs, I would be keen.

oh yeh
Maybe set up a uhf channel if anyone has one to make meeting up easier?

just a thought

Cheers
