what can i say but wow what an absolutely awesome weekend
thank you for every one that had a part in organizing and running this event.

the courses were way more fun and exciting then i thought they were going to be.

A big thanks to all who helped Shane and Dave from team Rocstar over the weekend as it was our maiden event.

Sam and his crew put on a great weekend.

Hopefully with a few mods, some $$$ and a bit more driving time we will be a bit more competitive next time. :):):)

I was pretty disppointed with Saturday, so didn't other going on sunday.

I few people I spoke to had the same view.

Unless you were right down next to the fence, you couldn't see anything, and it certainly was nto too impressive from a distance.

Overall... prefer the normal setup.

Something need to be done if more events are to be held at the creek
location changed, fence moved/ lowered, :bad-words: :bad-words:
from the spectators view absolute rubbish viewing. everyone that I spoke to thought the same
trying to take kids into the pits to see there favorite cars was non existant, hoppy with the crutch would let some people in and not others this is a bit un fair( I know why from a lialbility point)
but the next event at QLD and NSW you will be able to get up a lot closer to the action


Any way For Sam and The other organisers of werock congrats to a great setup ou the first man made event in Aust.

Went saturday and wasnt too impressed either, however dragged myself out there on sun and it was alot better. Harder lines, and the shootout involved both containors on the one course.

the fact that spectators were seperated from the competitor area and couldnt have a close up stickybeak at the buggys peeved me. This is not usually the case with We rock events and something that (usually) seperated this from other motorsports for me. Obviously as the sport grows, logistically this is unavoidable.

We all talk about the sport heading in the direction of man made courses proximal to city centres, but a competitive season should involve both this and the usual camping setup. Just the point of view of a mere spectator.

Having said that, on a months organising and limited budget. Sam et. al. did a great job with what they had.

More of an ampitheatre set up for spectating, couses set 2 containors high, and a food stand where the egg and bacon roles arnt 5 bucks and 3 days old, and youve got urself a WINNER.

Because thay do. See the climbs in US rock crawling. Sure, it would be silly if all courses were massive climbs and no technical stuff, but as a shootout bonus line it would be what separates the top runners.

I understand that from a drivers point of view the technical lines are challenging and fun (and safer), and a spectator appreciates that too if they know what its all about.

it was an awesome weekend. as a driver who had 3 rolls for the weekend, i would not be keen to see 2 containers high!!! ouch!

now just trying to work out funds to get up to the queensland round.

Ur soft, Bring on two 40ft containers, side by side on end. Shaped into a mountainous course..... thats 40ft of height.... :shock:
If you don't like it, take a cone to make it easier....

great weekend, im glad i wasnt stuck on the other side of that fence however. although this allowed me pretty much free reign from the competitor side without having to duck and dive between people :D

the only other 2 things that i want to contribute is there should have been scouts or rotary club or someone out there cooking a bbq. the food from that van wasnt all that great.

and there needed to be more shade, if you expect families to come out and stay all day, it was just to hot and this was only august. world finals in january will be a killer.

That fence did suck arse and also that we couldnt get a close loko at the buggies.

And im sure if they had sum W.E.ROCK t-shirts and hats and stuff they would of sold heaps. I heard alot of people asking if there were any t-shirts to buy.

But still not a bad day and good weather to match it. Thanks everyone who organised and competed for a great day :D

There is a lot of whinging about the setup. I can see that it can only get better. This was the first time they've done the manmade stuff without much time to prepare. Eastern Ck made them put up the big fence aswell.
It'll get better from here on in. Great effort to all involved! :armsup:

Sam announced at the Presentation yesterday that the first Milbrodale round has been moved to Grafton and the world finals will be back at the Creek.
I have heard there were issues with it being the Tuff Truck site.

Yeah Aus finals will be at Grafton speedway, man made course again. World finals will be back at Eastern Creek. Good moves in my opinion, as long as a compromise can be found where spectators can be made happy.

That fence has always been there it used to be a storage yard.
If you where allowed in the pit area it would have been alot better.
Was a good day (first event like this for me) just the fence sucked for taking pics.

Had a great weekend :)

From a competitors point of view, it was good to be able to compete without the fear of running the crowd over, if we got a bit off line and had to throttle out of it there was no cnance of us ending up in a spectators lap.

Also recoveries were made 150% easier and safer by not having to move the crowd to do a recovery, most times the other competitors just jumped in and rolled the buggys back over.

I agree about the fence being a pain in the ass but maybe next time some sort of scaffolding can be erected to form a grandstand type arrangement, not sure if this would be cost effective but maybe an option..

But overall the outcome of the weekend for me was 100% better than i was expecting for the first man made coarse competition, well done Sam -(stranger rover), Dave -(80lsy), Dannie -(Old_Man_Crawler)(sorry if i didn't mention u, these are the names of the people that popped into my mind just now), and all others involved in setting up organising and running the event



p.s did i mention team underdog came second in unlimiteds

I can confirm that the unlimited results were:

1. Shane & Zach (FireBug) (~-15pts)
2. Tim (~+9)
3. Pete (OPW) (~+17)
4. Adrian (~+18)
5. Roger (~+?)

At the end of day 1 Tim was in front with Adrian 1 point back, Jamie Way about 10 points back, and Roger and us about 11 points back. Lots more rolls and cones on day 2 rearranged the field a bit.

Had a great weekend... wasn't sure what to expect for the man made course, and I have to say that it was alot better than expected. Once you put some cones in some funky spots things get real interesting...

I thought the courses on Sat were a tad easy, but Sunday was spot on.

We drove the first 2 courses on Sat without steering - the steer pump died on the start line of course 1! Used the break between the 2nd and 3rd courses to swap the pump out and we were back in action. Big thanks to Sean from ABT for pulling the pump out of his Jeep (The FireTruck) for us to use, and thanks to Adrian for the bolts we needed to get the job done.

The FireBug worked great - have to thank Pip at Just Customs as always for the tweaks and repairs on the buggy to keep her tip top. And the others who always help us out, including ABT, Valvoline, Cummins, Staun, and Maxxis.

No rolls for us all weekend, but most people did go over I think.

Congrats to Sam and the entire WE Rock crew! Great start to man-made events in Aus... bring on the bigger courses!

I do agree that the view for the spectators was not great, but stick with it guys as it will only get better! Maybe next time if there needs to be a fence we could somehow make the 'pits' run along side the fence somewhere so everyone can get a closer view of the buggies.
