I'll think Matt will take it easy on the Jeep. The less he breaks, the less to fix. .
Have a good weekend boys.
Greg.
They cracked the steering box this morning in the Logan Challenge. Shane phoned us and he was on his way to Brissy to get another on. Worst thing about driving a jeep, not many spare parts at a comp. :)
so it was a steering BOX
i spoke to andrew and he said it was a drag link that broke.
cant expect much. it is only a mall cruiser with bar work and a lift kit :finger: :finger:
It was the steering box that broke. I drove the Jeep into a creek with a big rock in it which sheered the box just above the pitman arm.

We named our team, Team Carnage and we finished 5th overall which we are happy with since we had an unlocked GU wagon on 33's, an unlocked Jeep on 32's and a locked GU Ute on 35's and we spent the best part of Saturday down a vehicle which gives us an 80 point penalty before we start.

I drove the Jeep like I stole it and the boys in the team helped put it back together to keep it on the road (Offroad).

So will the Jeep make it this Saturday? I think so........ hopefully.

Shane
Good stuff Shane. 5th is pretty good even with breakage. Pissed off that i had to pull out.

It depends who turns up I think. Last month the boys in stardard class had a 40mm lift.

You are either in standard class no penalty or standard class with a small penalty.

I don't run the comp so correct me if I am wrong.

Welllll.........

turned up, broke a hub before even driving a single stage.

Drove Stage 1 No dramas, did well and scored well.

Almost drove stage 2, which was a previously undriven creek run full of massive holes and big rocks. Got almost to the top and destroyed hub number 2. i'm pretty sure i would have driven it if i hadn't done the hub.

Had a great day, thanks and big armsup to brendan who made us feel welcome and put us both at ease (me and angry elmo). Great comp, great atmosphere. Thanks for the shout out at the end Brendan.

Thanks to Evl11 who helped me get the first hub rebuilt and a big thanks to all those who helped me drag my junk out of the creek.

Now to do a fix on hub number two so i can drive down to sydney for a photoshoot with a certain mag on monday. One day i might even get some sleep.

Long day, i'm knackered but had a ball. Best of all, no panel damage

yeh sunday went along the creek, mainly to check out what brenden has made up the end.
because he has made a track around the waterhole and easy tracks to get there, we can quickly get up to there next time and than make tracks from there.
we went for about an hr walk and the tracks just kept going and going.

for the driving I do (rocks) the creepys are tops, much better than the simex.
The simex have there place and are much better than creepys in certain terrains.

How'd you go on this part? I went through there last weekend and it was my favourite part of that creek run.

Apparently Brett Thorpe drove the middle line in his Advanti Racing GQ. Pretty good effort.
