had some progress i changed the coil lead which was only 2 months old the car starts and runs but is breaking down at higher revs 4000rpm this may be the fault of it all (it was reading 9 ohms)?? and the breaking down may be the fact that i have a 1.5 spark gap for the electronic dizzy side of it all i drove for about 20 minutes and apart from it breaking down over 4000rpm it was ok no jolting no back fire so far so good i'll go further tomorrow back to the mechanics for them to refit the electronic ignition, there going to get a shock when they find out that all the brakets and optical wheel reader was left under the engine bay on the battery by them and only a 1 small bracket remains.
It took 2 weeks for me to get the ignition in the first place see how long it takes them to get the parts to refit it ??
I hope its all it is and its over

Q. and as for lpg who is good in brisbane south side for a service

Heh, my TB42 goes over 4000 rpm about once every two years.

I reckon that spark plug condition (and gap) and timing would just about be enough to explain all your problems now. I would say it's reasonable for the motor to peter out at 4000rpm from any of those things.

Is the dizzy advancing properly with increasing revs? You should be able to check this with your timing light, watch the spark advance as you increase the engine speed.

Shakes
you get my vote ;) Shaft play in the dizzy... warms up, bushes loosen, jumps around everywhere shorting on everything

I once had a similar problem.....ended up frying the ecm ... the gremlin was a $2 brass bush...it had ovalled, wasn't noticable when dizzy was in place.
Spark was erratic and enguine management computer was adjusting continually..... worth a thaught

as for progress

the coil lead was not the problem it played up again and had to be towed to the mechanics, there was 3 blokes working on it for 3hrs, i was in the car park next door and i could hear it back firing and carrying on most of the time then suddenly it appered out the drive, and they took it for a drive 15 minutes later it came back, and they said that the wire from the condencer was earthing out all fixed, no charge

(it took 3 men 3hrs to find that BULLSHIT).

I've driven 40ks so far so good, but back on points and now have to fight warranty with rocket for a new electronic dizzy.

as for the wire they said was faulty, it wasn't, they obviosly found something else and dont wont to addmit it, and by them not charging me, how do i argue.

I HATE WANKERS WHO CANT APOLIGISE IF THEY MAKE A MISTAKE

Can I name them, can I, can I, please.

Spot the difficult customer.

ARE YOU FOR REAL F#@K :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words:

go jump :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words:

THE FACTS

my car ran like a dream with the new eletronic dizzy exept i couldn't run it on petrol so i asked them to rebiuld the carby they said they could do that for me.
i then pick the car up to discover they dont do carby's they send them off to specialist etc. but they decided to rewire my electronic dizzy?? which they did WRONG!!!!! thats a proven fact

1. why take the job on if they dont do carbys?
2. why not ring me and inform me the resptionist had made a mistake?
3. why preform work not asked to do?

they then charge me to do this work, i didnt argue, i paid the money, walked out shitty my carbys was not rebiult. i was questioning how they rewired the dizzy but kinda happy because they said everthing else was in good order i then drove 15 ks home.
the next morning i proceeded to rover park for easter it broked down several times on the way there and i dont know how many time over the weekend with symptoms already explained, the result is streesed starter moter, battery, and weekend.

i take the car back to who last touched it, they convert it back to points sayiny my new electronic dizzy was faulty.

i get just 10 ks down the road and it breaks down again with the same symptons ???????????

i take it back and it take 3 mechanics 3hrs to find that a new wire that they just put in was causing the same symptons F$#K OFF :bad-words: :bad-words: !!!!!!!!

and they refuse to replace the bits from the electronic dizzy they lost so i cant put it back in to see if it works

:bad-words: F%$K OFF :bad-words: , F#$K YOU :bad-words: chimp boy i thought you had some intellengce you ruined that

Spot the difficult customer.
you have being following this long enough to know whats going on and you say that GET F#$KED :bad-words: :bad-words:

TO ALL ELSE THAT READ THIS SORRY BUT F#@K HIM :bad-words: :bad-words:

I've spent $600 and now back to points and now have to fight a warranty claim which i can bet my balls they going to say either there is nothing wrong with it or someone has wired it wrong causing it to fail so no replacement and then i have to start again.

Spot the difficult customer.F#@KIN :bad-words: ignorent chimp
