A couple of things to look for, The front double cardon drive shaft is a non servicable item and 'wears out'. Potential for rust in the alpine windows although I think this is more common in D1's than D2's.

If a Disco2 has SLS then if you look under the rear end there will be airbags instead of coils for the rear suspension.

Not sure exactly about the ACE telltale signs but if you see rams attached to the swaybars then it will have ACE.

The centre difflock is fitted in the transfer still up to a certain year or VIN. Not sure on the cutoff. Some time in 2002 maybe. Then there was a period that didn't have the transfer case bits at all. Then from I think 2003 (fancy headlights) you got the whole lot back which includes the full function transfer lever.
