Sub 2sec? Yeah right. PICS AND VIDEOS PLEASE :finger:

My modified BMW M5 (3.8 straight six) did it in 5.2sec.
That was back when I was living in Germany, I sold that car for about 10grand (AUS) when I left to come back to Oz....... Over here they're 40k+..... :?

I haven't timed the GU yet but with the turbo it goes a lot better...... I have to back off though as the boost controller isn't opening up so it runs full boost....... gotta watch that gauge when it goes higher than 9psi..... Had it up to 12 once

Sub 2sec to 100kph.
Genuine street car does 142mph at end of 1/4 mile.
A 142 mph pass is about a mid 9 second run give or take. So he's doing a 100km/h in under 2 seconds but then it takes him another 7.5 seconds to get the next 125mk/h out of it.. must be set up shit or a shit driver.
Oh and by the way, by my calculations, well estimates, i figure to shift a 1.2 ton mass from 0 - 100km/h with a drive ratioof app 20:1 with a 75 inch drive wheel would take about 700-800kw..nice daily driver.

A Bugatti veyron goes 0-100 in 2.8sec, would take a heck of a lot more power to shave .8 off of that - and its already got 1000hp to start with...

Not to mention it would need about 17 wrx gearbox's in tandem to stand up to that sort of power hehehe....

I'm thinking someone wishes they thought more before they posted.

Though it is kinda possible, I doubt the authenticity of it. Unless the guy has spent $100k on it who knows. Proof?

Even if he'd spent 100k on it, his biggest problem would be getting that traction to ground. I can't see him being able to put that sort of power to ground in a street legal car on street-ish tyres. Also remembering that your speedo measures from the drivetrain - not always actual speed (ie if your spinning the wheels).

A 5000hp top fuel dragster can do 0-100 in about 1 sec so a wrx should do it in under 2 secs no worries ;)

Has he put a dog box in it or something? Rex boxes barely hold onto a basic boost increase as it is (driven hard)

Ruffy - Yes its got over 700hp at flywheel. 3150lbs inc driver.
He drives it a lot. To and from the track. Not his daily drive anymore cause he's got a blowen Calais for his work car now.

Nemesis - Its a standard box with a PPG dog engagement gearset fitted.
There aren't any sub 10 sec manual WRXs in the country. He is planning on being the first. once he does a 9 ,there is a full drag auto gearbox in the garage which will guarantee 9 sec passes.

Proof - Check out results for 2008 Jamboree. E.Brittain.
10.0 @142 on DOT tyres and Shell V-power.

Now if you could lift one up about a foot it would get interesting.

Bro-in-law has a GQ with a somewhat worked RB30DET in it, running in the low 6's at the moment on a stock clutch. Major clutch slippage so a new one will be going in soon.

Depends, for people not interested it is.

For some of us, we like to have plenty of cake and eat it too. What's wrong with building something that's fun on road as well?

My 4Runner will probably follow >80% of the trucks on this site off road, yet is still a blast day to day embarrasing road cars. I can have fun getting to the tracks, not just on them. Best of both worlds I reckon.

So for me, I find it interesting to hear what other peoples mods have netted.

They were just the first few I could fine. I'm sure there are plenty more.

If your brother REALLY has 700 Bhp then he should be better than 8.3s... Either there are some porkies somewhere, or he just can't drive... :D

At least 2 of those cars are autos. It doesn't say what the last one is.
Totaly different class of racing too. We are talking street cars that are driven to the track, raced & driven back home afterwards.
Once he gets into the 9's he is going to put the auto in. Then with some slicks and other stuff he will run some decent numbers.
At the moment he is still loosing a lot of rubber going down the track if you know what I mean.

What's the difference between comparing performance and comparing amount of flex, tyre size, custom bullbars etc etc? Everything on this site is a pissing contest in that regard.....

The good old if you aint interested, don't post I reckon. You guys will kill this thread, but some of us find it interesting (untill we got to the WRX padding...), especially if people be reasonable in the figures they produce. This is a vehicle enthusiasts website, 4WD based yeah, but who's rig is 100% off road based anyways, there's more to our trucks than just rock.

I've had the monster truck that's dangerous on road and handles like a boat, but insane off road. Now i've got a truck that's insane and safe (within drivers reasoning) ON road, and is just as fun off (less technical tracks) and I know which one I prefer in hindsight.

You slow bus drivers would only need one trip in the runner to be convinced that underpowered is boring, even in a big 4WD. Oh, and I bet mine is cheaper to run than you diesel tankers as well ;) :finger:

The problem is "underpowered" is relative. No matter how much power you've got on tap, you quickly get used to it, even bored with it.

Cheaper to run? I've gotta hear the explanation on this one.

Sequential vapour injection LPG. 50c/L average. Travelling is around 13L/100km, around town getting into it a bit is around 18L/100 ;)

I know what you mean about not enough power, the bug. Like 4WD'ing ;)
