maybe competitors means other companies not just other wheelers.....

and im guessing they want to get the stuff sorted and tested before they say whats what....

then again maybe there only doing a one off.......

then again.........

 Evan , Mate you should be more worried about fitting a rear Suck down winch and organising to hook the front winch to the diff aswell before worrying bout having rear steer

Also it isnt really Gregs thread to inform everyone what Mick. is going to do .....if Mick. wishes to share Im sure he will .....

Stop worrying ...or maybe PM him ......I could pass on his mobile Number to You ...what ya reckon Greg

Agreed.

IM(very)HO, the sooner competitors start seeing Tuff Truck as a rock crawling event (for big buggies) with a mud run, the sooner they will compete with more success.

Sticky compound tyres and a low COG are a MUST. Then you need to look at steering angles, diff assembly strength, front and rear digs, and queer steer.

The ability to complete stages and/or earn the maximum points possible come down to those very important things.

My 2c.

Evan. Greg is just being his normal Google self.
If you follow most of the threads on diffs then you will soon pick up on most of gregs little miss match setups.
Best to stick to your other idea on what you want to run. I would be going portals though.

You are spot on but you left out portals

All this stuff was put into the little red FULL BODIED Zook 2 years ago.
I think you can push the limits a lot more we just have to see what the new rules will let us do.

People need to understand the rules and use them the there advantage as to when I built that Tuff Truck I asked how much chassis I needed to use and the answer was some so some was used

As for the new rules they are talking chassis from diff to diff so flip the chassis up side down and use it as your roll cage and you must use the original fire wall so we could use it as our skid plate start thinking out side the box.
You don't have to brake the rules just use them to your advantage
:D

As for rear steer diffs about 6 years ago I built a GQ rear nissan housing with front hi pinion center and 80 series swivel hubs on it the diff was going in a Zook but I never finished the car so I can not tell you how strong it was but I was thinking as long as I used the rear steer to just maneuver the rear and not get on the gas when the wheels were on full lock it would of been ok in my light car.

As I always say one try is worth a thousand expert opinions.
