Go through this list, look where clubs are based by their meeting/postal address. Judging by their websites, you will get a feel for what sort of trips they are about.
Go to a few meetings, get a feel for the people, talk with the trip co-ordinator, see what they offer.
Then go on a few trips with each club. In Reality, you could do a years worth of trips without joining a club... Once you've done a few trips with those clubs, you will find out which one if for you..
As for clubs being all old people wanting to cross the Simpson, none of th clubs I looked at before joining were about that at all - yes one was full of pensioners, but they still ... hang on, no they didnt do shit! But the one I joined has a full calendar for next few months.
aahhh yeah guilty, what did ya think?beinthemud wrote:at wadin when you were heading for the gate you gave the throttle a squirt
Id rather leave my nads in my wifes panty draw than let a zook pull me anyweredank wrote:Join the suzuki club of victoria!
It's all about the trips. There is a hard trip at least once every 5 weeks.
If you aren't embarrassed by getting snatched or winched out by zooks then this is the club for you! We have some GQs, GUs and some other bigger 4wds in the club also...so you won't feel left out

Steve.
im sure you can still choose who and what trucks to drive with in a clubdanssurf82 wrote:clubs do a bit in the political side....
but i personally would not join one due to all their crappy rules and regs...
i like to do my own thing, take my own lines and dont like a 2hr track to take 6hrs cause of un-capable trucks/drivers or weak/unmainatined vehicles breaking down/snapping stuff
i mean trucks my truck hasn't met before.Wambat wrote:how new its new to you though, new to me would be like under 4 year old trucks
they have to. but you will find clubs with OLD people are diabolical for it.danssurf82 wrote:clubs do a bit in the political side....
Those crappy rules and regs are the same ones that we all have to abide by if we wish to have somewhere to wheel in future.but i personally would not join one due to all their crappy rules and regs...
Thats the fault of the trip leader. he should say this is an A grade trip and only take cars on it that are suited - our club does that. Very select on who goes on them, and what trucks. Also the #'s are limited on those trips..i like to do my own thing, take my own lines and dont like a 2hr track to take 6hrs cause of un-capable trucks/drivers or weak/unmainatined vehicles breaking down/snapping stuff
exactly!Wambat wrote:sorry mate, i thought you ment physicaly new trucks, not people you havent wheeled with before.
aslo i think a good point is, to wheel with people you know. obviously at some stage you dont know people. but when you meet people. who you like wheeling with and trust, try to wheel with them as much as possible.
i try to wheel with people who are sensible, like to go rough, but have thier head screwed on straight, dont forget thier own tracks through the bush, are willing to travel slower as my truck is not as fast as everything else( i have been speed off on alot, and left in the bush trying to figure out where they went, some times there are no turn offs but some times there is, and some times there isnt that much evedence of a turn, and other times there is) i hate being left alone what happens if something major happens andi need them right there and then, and they are 5 mins up the road!!!!!!
so when i go wheeling, and i decided i dont like how some one else wheels i wont go with them as often, maybe never again.....
I drive slow im constanly lost if i get left alone im not a sookie and i wont cry about it ill make my own fun and i drive a Toyotanoisy truck wrote:exactly!Wambat wrote:sorry mate, i thought you ment physicaly new trucks, not people you havent wheeled with before.
