13.7 is about the worst I have had on road,
I tow a 1.5 tonne trailer (2.4 high solid box) twice a week - do 110 with it for 15ks each way.
I always let it warm up then drive it like a car, never rape it but never under the limit.

Always fill up way before the light comes on and get on average 575ks,
I use the iphone to calc the consumption for nearly every fill up - it takes a few seconds and is vital IMO as the injectors etc have been shite on hiluxes so I am anal while under warranty.

Just looked in my wallet - last fill was 75.87l for 573klms - so 13.24l/100

I do think the 33's make it better as the gearing is shit standard with the pissy 30's or whatever they are.

cheers bru

Worst fuel ecconomy I ever got was 16L/100km with a 1000kg camper trailer and loaded up for a month away.

No ideas about the zd30 but I just about piss myself loling when I hear the ideal "to small for the car" crap hell a road train pulling 130t day in day out will last in excess of 1m kms with a 15or16 litre engine. Sure they rev far lower due to size/weight and are geared lower and with more gear options but engine size and HP it's like having a small hatz in a patrol. Seriously you wanna race car buy one, don't expect a heavy commercial style vehicle to be one!!!

Just a quick update having spent 4 days in a 07 3L manual wagon in WA. Towed a tandem trailer with fark all weight on it (couple gennys and pumps etc then back empty) Did 1500 kms ish round trip so mainly hiway driving then a bit of dirt into stations. We were towing from 110-130km/hr and pulling upto 35L/100 maybe a smidge higher loaded (Revving pretty high aroudn the 4 + figure continous with standard tyres and gearing)... dont ever buy a company car :D

Granted people dont always tow so fast but people not always have work to do :finger: Time is money and more money that fuel... Even no trailer that rig still pulls close to 25-30 normally when wound up on the hiways....

The stockies over there suggest their 200's only rev only at 2500 rpm at 160 and would average 18L/100 on the hiway in comparison..... :roll: Fark thats good and so many herbs.

3L = gutless and thirsty :D
