I doubt you will be able to find a welded coily front diff. no they are not the same as a narrow track diff and I doubt if they are interchangeable. you may be able to fit a jimny front diff with some small modifications.zookwithdreams wrote:I have almost decided to weld the front in my coily after this topic but want to have a spare as a back up. Any suzuki wrecker will have them. As they're not that common a car there are usually a few around. would only weld a rear, after riding in a zook with both welded, in competition style events, u loose the ability to turn and therefore keep hitting buntings and having to back and fill etc.

why do you wanna carry a spare diff around with you ? weld it properly and it won't break .
and what screwy said is true , i know i had dramas with turning in the nissan trials but rather be running with two locked diffs and hard steering in a comp than no locker in the front at all , weld them both and save up for power steering or the like .

How will a steering dampener help It may help reduce the kick back when you let the wheel go under bound up conditions, but not by much at all, and you shouldnt be letting go of the wheel at all. As for the stiff steering with a front locker engaged, the dampener will do nothing for this at all.

A steering damper will do nothing for your steering ... apart from protect you from a little kickback.
