Awsome event thanks again Sam for the buggy. Too tired to say much but had an absolute ball and hope we can get a few more competitors and also a few more events just like we have just had. The Bar has been raised this past weekend and i hope the next one will be raised even higher. It still needs to get Harder

And for those reading about all the rolls. After 3 complete rolls and a few hard flops there was not one single injury in this event. That includes drivers and Spotters.

PS; Nobody listen to teamzook he reckons i made him ski down the bonus stage hill on his ass and he got a couple of scratches :finger:

AWESOME WEEKEND! I've got to give it to all the competitors. The amount of work put in to the trucks leading up to and during the event just shows the dedication these boys have to their sport.

I myself only just got home from the event with BeeBee after some trail repairs that were made on the side of the highway. :morning: Unfotunately alot of breakages on saturday held him back but with a total of 12 points on todays stages I can tell you hes more than happy with all the hours he put into the engine swap.

Also a big congrats to the boys that took the marathon parts/repairs run saturday arvo/night/sunday morning from rover to lismore to gold coast to brissy and back again. I think this was Rod, Scotty and Jamie (sry anyone I missed). Without this run a number of the rigs wouldnt have been running sunday let alone competitive.

Also congrats to the Overkill boys for all the hard work they put into the little zuk. They just had drama after drama leading up to and over the weekend. We bumped them in Tenterfield about 7:30 tonight where they had just hired a car trailer to take it home after finally suffering from head trouble (I think?) to top it all off. It was a top effort just to keep coming back.

As for the guy pointing out that NSW took two of the three top spots all ya doing is pointing out they were the the first two losers. :P Nice driving Tony. :)

Just got home and about to catch up on some sleep that I missed last week.

Have to say a big THANKYOU too everyone involved in the event. Personall for me that's Greg (1Madengineer) my spotter, John the pit crew, sponsers, and everyone at rover park as well as the haultec boys incl POS for organising such an awesome event. It is definatley the best of its kind in Aus.

Good to see that the spectators were entertained.

Off to bed now........ :D

Just got home about an hour ago,After stopping at tenterfeild to help the overkill boys.
Sadly we had to hire a car trailer to tow sam home.
We drove all night to get back in time for some of the guys to go to work today.
Now for a little carnage report of mine.
Sat --- Bent lower left link and snapped rear tailshaft.
--- Missed 2 stages and got it fixed for last stage,Got half way up the creek and snapped the 2 upper rear heim joints, rotated rear diff, snapped pinion, and snapped the ends of the 2 rear fox air shox (OUCH)
Sat arvo night
We stripped the rear end out of buggy and took a road trip to brissy,Re-designed the upper mounts and got 2 new shox(thanks adrian)and welded a rear diff.Got back to rover at a little after 2am and put the buggy back together for sundays events.Finished a 4.30am and got about 2hours sleep.
Had an absolute blast in the first 3 stages,no breakages and minimal penilties, then in the last stage just after the start line snapped another heim, this time the upper front on the rear right, rotated diff and snapped a 3rd fox shox.so that was the end of my fun weekend.
Then on the way home towing the buggy, the rear diff in my 80 decided to basically shiat itself. :bad-words: :bad-words: So i have a nice little repair bill to come this week...   :bad-words: :bad-words:
Anyway i'm going to get some sleep.

what an absolutly awesome event
3 major rollovers (all on camera  ) some absolutly insane tracks and a very well organised event with only a couple of slow spots but on the whole it was probably the most professional, spectator catered for event i have been to

well done to the organisers :D

our mob (dibbs: 60series, guru: extracab, eyepee: 40series, brenno: 100series) had a great time. Venue was awesome, campsite was awesome, crawlers were awesome. Redzook was awesome going up the 'creek stage' with about 30 navigators. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Overkill was awesome for coming back the second day for another go, and suffering badly at the hands of fate. Navi who called his driver 'a fat c*nt' on day2 was awesome  Adrian in the blue rig was super-awesome, for giving the biggest shows on both days. it was choice to look under your car without kneeling down or crawling under it :P the chiqs cooking bulk snags ($1 for a snag on bread with onion and sauce, any wonder they were there for hours!) were awesome. Well done to everyone who organised, competed and attended! (pics from day1 below)

I got home around 2:15 on monday morning after flying back to Melbourne from Brisbane airport!

This was an awesome weekend and very entertaining, lots of excellent driving and carnage.

I would like to thank Greg (1madengineer) and Dave (BeeBee) for getting me to and from the event, thanks heaps.

It was good to meet some of the faces off the board and to have a chat.

Now back in melbourne it is raining and cold, nothing like being up there at Rover Park.

Thanks to Adrian for organising the event and to everyone else that helped with it. The event was run real smoothly.

I got about 200 pics on my digital camera so if any competitor wants some of them, just email me at peterbutcher@netspace.net.au with your vehicle and i will email them back. they are at 1024x768 res.

Has anyone got any more vids to put up, coz i saw about 100 video cameras around the place :D

ps. when is the next one
