that tyre test (goanna hillclimb) is fun. i think you really need twin locks now, 35s or greater, and lots of power

i tried it recently after i made it up about a week before i tried it again and it was real slippery. when you get as far as you can, i just slid backwards down it.

it the real wet conditions now, i think it would be virtually impossible. but still fun to have a crack. even colin on 38 boggers and bucket loads of power couldnt make it up when it was wet, and i presume he runs twin locks.

Firstly, I admire you guys for taking the time and effort to produce the show. However, I believe you should portray the 4WD fraternity in a different light. The majority of the episodes to date have had a hardcore focus. Replaying DVD’s I can buy is pointless. If I was Joe punter channel surfing tonight and saw trucks rolling over, mud burnouts etc. it would only fuel my incorrect perception that all 4WDers are rednecks. The show should be promoting tread lightly. Don’t show clips of trucks doing damage to tracks. I know the association have clamped down on photos published in club magazines. If you want to do that stuff fine just don’t publish pics or run clips on national TV. As far as the hardcore focus, how about a weekly tech section. There are loads of topics and not just topics from sponsors. If I see another suspension modification I am going to scream. What about a tech section with Robert Pepper on GPS navigation, map reading etc. I noticed Nissan loaned you a nice shiny new patrol that was only used as a prop for tonight’s show. It would have been nice to spend a few mins showing it off. In summary, you have a fantastic opportunity to show the non-4WD community that we are not a bunch of rednecks destroying the bush. Let’s use it to our advantage.

the only prob with that is it then becomes boring.
i understand your take on it and agree with your thinking but if they did as you say i probably wouldn't watch it.

I guess there has to be a balance and it probably allready is in balance :?

we need a tv channel that can only be seen by people who own a 4wd :D

blkmav. I would just like to point out that the Nissan in Question is not on loan from anyone, it is Meranda's new ride. And I suspect the reason you dont see it wheeling through heavy tracks is that it is brand new and was purchased as her work car. She and Simon have the 80 series for the rough stuff. As far as the rest of your comments, I some what agree but the show is evolving and half hour does not allow for much. Part of the idea for the show is to cover the events that the main streem media ignor such as the hardcore fraternity. Yes I think more tech sections would be a great idea. As the old saying goes, " you cant please everyone".
One of the hardest things when doing either a TV show, radio or event is that you have advertisrs/sponsors and in the case of puplic access TV these people pay your way, thus it is part of the deal is to push their product. Just think about how many adds from supercheap you put up with when watching Bathurst! As far as I know there will be more track/trip reports in the next series, we are out on sunday filming more for the track report side of things.
One of the other things to remember is that once the show goes national there will be even more segments that need to be slotted in from each state and untill such time as reputable people are found in each state to produce the local version the half hour will be very busy indeed.
Final thing to remember is that it costs money to do the show, lost of it and time. Yes some of it comes from sponsers but no way near the amount needed. Now where do you think the rest comes from?

The objects of the show appear to be contradictory. That is, it wants to cover the type of activity that main stream television does cover but they also appear to want to be a main stream national television show. You either stay hardcore and limit the audience to go mainstream. There is only so many times seeing a car roll over on rocks is entertaining. It appear that last nights show was at least 75% adverts. PNL, 4x4 show, Nankan tyres, Extreme 4x4, etc, etc, etc.

i reckon that your right carn't make everyone happy, but im not here to criticise cause they had the guts to go out and try this of there own back and well done, but constructive cricism is good as long as its that.

the only major gripe ive got is that ive missed a couple of shows and carn't get them anywhere , that shit# me !!!!!!
and aslo for me to make out a picture on channel 31 i have to get really pissed and close one eye :) :) then i may be able to make out a image :) :)

Keep up the great work !!!
Cheers .

if u cheak out www.4wdtv.com.au (i think) u can buy the episodes on dvd from there, i reackon before u guys start giving them shit, i reackon u should try and make a whole television show yourselves. i have talked to simon at the 4x4 show and the stuff that they have had to to do make the series and also becase channel 31 doesn't pay them the money from the sponsers only just covers things...i think. i think well done to simon, miranda and mecal, top job :D

they're lucky to have the show still going!
Simon came very close to being squashed by Matt (Gonads) in the white zook at Battle of the codes last weekend, lucky he can run quick.

Good luck with the show guys, it was nice meeting u, we hope to see lots of footage of that comp.

If you want to show the hardcore stuff then fine. But dont, at the start, say that you support Tread Lightly! then show a couple of minutes of trucks ripping up tracks. More than likely these are performed on private properties or 4WD parks but Joe Public doesn't see it that way.

id have to agree with this maybe a scroll running along the bottom saying in a controled situation on private prop like they do when they have stunts in car ads on tv dont try this at home kids or your local national park :)

Have I missed something, or have the past few weeks been repeats?
Apparently people think I'm too patronising (that means I treat them like they’re stupid).
