60 series viscous fan clutch

Post by cmcd »

After reading through Ezookiel's tales of woe (http://carl.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopi ... highlight=), I had a thought..

My fan clutch on my FJ62 shit itself a while back, and I just rocked on down to the wreckers and picked up another one. At the time, I didn't think anything of it, but the wrecker mentioned it came off a diesel. It does seem to roar a bit more often now, but I'd just put that down to it being summer and warmer.. :?

Is this going to make any difference to me? Do the diesel ones lock up earlier or later than the petrol ones?

Cheers!
