GU Shim Kit for King Pins?
GU Shim Kit for King Pins?

Hi all. I've been in the process of tracking down shims for my GQ as well. All of the Cruiser/Hilux kits i've done come with shims - but not the Nissan kits. I've tried every workshop in my town with no joy, even the mechanic that owns 3 GQ's couldn't help me. Tried 3 major auto/4x4 suppliers down in Melbourne also with no luck. Nissan had stock of every size, but they wanted $16.85 FOR EACH BLOODY SHIM!!! I know genuine parts aren't cheap, but what a joke!!! The aftermarket Toyota kits come with 12 or 16 of the bloody things (3 or 4 thicknesses).
I think i might have to resort to shim paper/sheets and make my own.

Yeah, i got the spare parts guy to look up the parts for me, and cause i don't know exactly what size shims i need, i said "If they're cheap enough, i'll buy three different sizes in quantities of four". I reckon the guy at the sales desk 10 meters away heard my sphincter clamp up when he gave me the price.
