Hey all, i am asking this on behalf of my dad

He wants to replace the front wheel bearings of his XJ cherokee but the parts store told him that they be cant replaced and you have to replace the whole hub instead...is this true?

Ummm yes it is true, but if you can find an enterprising person to push out the bearing once you have removed the hub then you might get out of it a bit cheaper :)

Otherwise contact USA 4x4 in Melb and they will be able to help you with the problem as well.

Yeah it's true.....But also check with the lads at Suburban4wd (minchinbury Sydney) as they are an "enterprising" bunch ;)

Dude, just replaced my right front wheel bearings a couple of weeks ago.
As the boys said you just need someone who knows what their doing.
Got mine from Mascot Motors . Second hand bearings were about $190 and brand new ones were about $360.My mechanics said it only took about an hour so no matter what it is a lot cheaper that buying the whole hub.
