okeydokey,

are there any of those $20 hooks they sell in 4wd stores that fit an 80 series bolt holes at the bottom of the bull bar. all the ones i have seen have the holes too close together.

If there are I can't find them.

anyway i parted with $40 for one piece of bent metal painted red, and it hangs down alot lower than the hooks. would also prefer teh hooks so i don't have to use a shackle.

does anyone sell them in sydney?

just made the $40 one fit and bought some high tensile bolts for it.

after calling around and being tole yes we have them come and get them then getting there and them being not what i asked for I just thought F*#k it. I'll use the most expensive piece of bent metal I have ever bought and deal with it.

I'll take a pic later and post it for ya

please post pics as I have the same dramas and just drilled a new hole to suit the hook.
I don't think it's strong enough to snatch off but I have seen pics in a well known Aus 4wd publication where the original tow hooks fit in the holes perfectly. And we all know the carry on with those hooks.ie.Tie downs only, yeah yeah.
Can't really find anywhere else to put them.

FYI you can get rated hooks (and I'm not talking about the tie down loops) from a Prado or 100 series that fit the 80. You may be able to pick them up from a wreckers or if you're feeling flush then you can get the genuine article from Toyota for about $130.00 a hook

I managed to pick up one a gazillion years ago and haven't been able to find too many since.

Here's how I fixed mine. A couple of hours and all done.

Top idea but my bullbar is mounted using those holes and I can't do what you did.
Would be no problem at all if I could find hooks with the same hole pattern.

They don't make them. You need to modify the holes and bullbar then. I have seen where people have mounted the hooks on the bullbar next to the uprifghts.
