PM Booflux aka Gary as he has done his '98 Dualcab Hilux. The Runner & Hilux have some variations.
Here is a pic of his Lux as it is in my shop ATM getting complete barwork & SAS conversion, coil rear & custom tray.

My opinion would be why?
I would turbo or supercharge the 6. I dont think that it would be worth the trouble and expense to put a 1uz in, unless you were wanting to turbo or supercharge it.
The 3.4 is a good motor and they get some impressive figures out of them in the states. Maybe get on a US site and check some out.

I have also been weighing up the options. The TRD supercharger looks alright, with also the option of a 7th injector for more power.

Yep I'd agree with Boof.
I think you would find a 1UZ wouldn't be much better than the 3.4, if at all.
Supercharge the 3.4 if you must have more grunt. I know of a few Prado's fitted with the factory Toy supercharger and they grunt, not as good as my V8
but they go much better than a stockie

To do it yourself and with the wiring and some other stuff outsourced around 7g. Drive in, drive out expect 10-13 remember you will have to replace the standard box with a R series also as they are a lot stronger.

Go the supercharger. TRD just bolts on piece of p##s. But don't worry about the 7th injector, get a URD fuel upgrade kit. More ponies and no pinging. But it all depends on how big a project you want.
