80 Series Performance Mods

Post by warpdriv »

I have a 96 FZJ80 US Petrol cruiser. I am researching performance mods to do to it. So far I plan on doing a hi flow cat and a flowmaster muffler.

What other mods is everyone down there doing?

Also, is anyone rerouting their exhaust pipe differently to keep it from going under the frame?

Thanks for the help,

The best mod is a safari turbo, followed with a supercharger from TRD.
Then there is extractors, borla exhaust, but be prepared for a loud exhaust!
The reason the turbo is the best mod is because it is bolt on, comes with 3 inch mandrel exhaust that doesnt go over the chassis , and actually lowers max torque from 3500 to 2000 rpm, much better for auto cruising/towing, and also not much more fuel is used.
Look for slee offroad at Golden on the net-cool bloke i hear.

Safari makes a turbo kit for the 4.5 litre petrol :finger: The kit puts out 230-240Kw @ the flywheel ;)
