Snake racing steering arm UPDATE:
well guys, today
20/12/02, snake has emailed me, after his phone call the other day, and he has the high steer in stock!!
My arms will be here sometime early next week, so i am jumping for joy! I have actually been running a set of these arms since may, and have not bent a tie rod since then!!
I sent him an email this morning and he has gotten back to me promptly, he has offered me refund plus, or my arms, promptly delivered, and has apologised, again for the delay!
Hophoar is also going to get his high steer tomorrow morning at 8am!
So he has it sorted by the sounds of it!
Not once did i say snake was a bad guy, in fact he has gone out of his way to help me on two occasions that i can think of, and has helped other guys that i know of! I was raging about not getting my gear, but now its all good!!
I will put some pics up soon!

no one did, we were all just stating the lack of customer service that was involved in the products he was offering.

Don't mean to put a dampener on things but from what I believe there are only a few more pairs available at the moment as the other are still to have the machining done for the kingpin. Just letting everyone know that this is the story that he has told some people. If there are 60 persons expecting to order a set and see them within 2 days - don't hold your breath. But one would think that now that he has them from the casters, then the machining shouldn't be much of a hastle.
Does anyone know if it is just one arm style that he has in stock or all. Like I'm assuming that there are different ones for toyota hilux, 40, 75 series's?

Why did you post that twice Dan?
If you wanted your question answered then no Hilux and Cruiser run different steering arms as stock but yes the Snake racing arms are the one style to suit both. Why toyota made them different i dont know i think it had to do with Rim offsets.I run 60series ones on mine as they are a lot beefier than the hilux ones but you cant run a stock drag link then because it isnt long enough.

there are different knuckle types, but i only know of two dudes on the board with the knuckle type that there is no high steer for
and neither of them have expressed an interest, so i wont bother to confuse the issue
all the factory arms have the same ackerman angle, the difference is in the thickness between knuckle casting and arm section
the phat ones are from early disc brake trucks

BJ is the ackerman angle is determined by the length of the arm or the off set of it?
Does snake offer any at different lengths or with different tie rod hole spacings. I'm goint to have a problem with binding me thinks.

ackerman angle is basically an imaginary line from TRE through centre of kingpin
wher ethis "imaginary line"
supposedly interesects your rear diff, is your ackerman angle
whats up with your ackerman dude?
what do you want to know?
or you just think im lying?
or dont beleive me?

your ackerman angle should change as your wheelbase changes but as he said the arms from a FJ55 to a 40 and hilux are all the same. Even ole land rovers are all the same whether they be short of long wheelbase.
i said this on a discussion concerning this, maybe a year ago or more
i still have a link to it
ackerman angle IS important, but can NEVER be perfect, and OFTEN is actually biased from factory to get better handling at high speeds 8)
hands and mums dont count!!!
Is it measured at full lock or wheels straight ahead?
