We are pretty sure its done a bearing, what do you think i should do, im gonna have to do sumfin, wehter its get a second hand one or get an exchange one from an auto sparky, or go a brand spanker? Can anyone tell me what the wise move to wake would be and if anyone has had this prob what did you do to fix it? Ok thanks guys

Do you need a higher output alternator? Now's a good time to upgrade if you may need one now/in the future.
If not, I've always gone to the sparky and had them rebuilt... works out fairly cheap, depending on what's wrong.
I spose he would tell you what the cheapest/best route would be.

Thanks hot four, what did it cost ya to get it rebuilt roughly? And zolton it dosent make a clicking noise, it makes like a really crunchy type noise, almost like the noise when ya belts are loose, but its not the belt if ya follow that lol

I have done mine myself at a mates workshop the last few times. Bearings from a bearing shop were about $25-$30 (stretching memory).
Last one I did was a 100 amp GU where the front bearing was stuffed, got it for a carton and spent about 2hrs getting the bearing off. Checked over by a sparky and was all good - bargain of the year. Now sitting in my shed gathering dust

the bearings are about 5 bucks each from a bearing shop.... if you have access to a press you can have this sorted for nuthing... almost...
i have done this before and is pretty easy...just take it easy on the press because it is only alloy that you pushing in/out of..
