4.8 are like $600 - $800

4.3 not sure can't remember

40, 55, 60 front and rear.
80 rear only front is a hilux hi-pionion.
think 70's have a larger axle dia.
100 no idea about.

you gonna run long's?

thats between $600 and $800 not fitted to your spidergears or carrier.

i run Yuri4x4 C.v's in My 40 (60's cv's locked) and in my MQ (also locked) and never broken any in the 40 (34" jt2's and 37" boggers)

however the MQ (250x-flow, auto and gearin) has broken 1 axle and no c.v's in 2 years.

look at www.yuri4x4.com

4.1 are strong! for off road with 37's and MAINLY 42's you'll need gearing.
yuri does reduction hubs if ya dont wanna street it, other wise case gears.

Only thing im not sure about is the splines, as i have heard somewhere that they use bigger carrier bearings.

Also read somwehere that ya need to grind the carrier a touch to make it fit, but very possible

60'S DIFF RATIO'S

Post by goannaoffroad »

HERE ARE THE FACTS ON TOJO REAR DIFFS from one who fixes 'em
40's 55's early 60's square flange 4.11-1 all the same diff pet' dies' what
ever all the same.Lsd option, small side bearings.
late 60's ('84 on) early 75's (to '90) round flange 4.11-1 all the same diff' pet' dies' what ever.Lsd option large side bearings
Import 60's from Japan 3.7-1.Lsd option large side bearings.
FZJ/HZJ75 4.11-1 will fit earlier models without any mod's at all.Lsd standard large side bearings.
FZJ/HZJ80 4.10-1 will fit earlier models without any mod's but wrong ratio for other models.
ALL THE AXLE SPLINES ARE THE SAME ON ALL THE ABOVE DIFF'S.

I've got 4.88's in mine. From memory it was around 600 bones for the C+P set per diff.
They are also available in 5.24
The rest of the answers are all there.

you'll love the lower ratio if you've got big tyres. If i was going bigger than 37 i'd have the 5.24's for sure.

60'S DIFF RATIO'S

Post by goannaoffroad »

The difference between 4.11-1 and 4.10-1 is only 0.01 so if you allready have an 80's rear diff be brave and fit it .If used wisely you should not have a problem.
If memory serves me correctly International Scouts ran a slighty differant ratio front to rear,it will take up any slack in the drive line. But do not drive far in 4wd on a hard surface.Old 4wd saying "Transmission wind up makes things go BANG!!"

its not goinjg to give you a problem unless you drive it on bitumen

could make dropping out of 4x4 a little harder

but i would do it for sure.

Im pretty sure there is that much difference between the 80series diffs anyway, cause of the hi pinion front, could be thinking lux though...

Hey Troy - Dunce (Brian) recently-ish replaced my diff after the extra ponies had crashed the diff in my rig.

Reckon you'll be fine. What sort of dollars for the locker did you find?

you can all so get 6.29 but the are weak.

the more teeth you have on the same size crown and pionion the weaker they are, 4.1 are good but 5.3 or 6.3 = any hop you'll hear a pop!

everything in the diff had been rebuilt and the air locker added. im still yet to figure out how you get 0.01 of a ratio difference, bit of a noob when it comes to ratios.

Hey sixdeetoo i paid 1K for the whole completely rebuilt center, had been used only a couple times as it came out of this fellas (Brad from tyreworks) Comp Car, only reason he sold it was cause he went from the 80 series running gear to GU running gear. Did you put an 80 rear in yours????, if worst comes to worst ill get my mate to swap the locker RD33 into my old housing, but would be good to get away with it!!!

I think they were superior gears. From queensland.
I can probably chase it up for you if you're keen and find out where they came from exactly and what i paid?
